Accurate simulation of the nearest Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport
There are some things this airport gets right (jetway accuracy and ground textures, for example) but, overall, I feel that Savannah needs a lot of fixing. There are a number of ground anomalies airside, and there's just way too much default satellite imagery left in for it to feel convincing when viewed from the ground. Add to that a handful of mirrored textures (such as on the static Herc and various signs) and this airport feels rushed and unfinished. The main terminal textures look okay from a distance but gradually get worse as you move in close. Building textures generally look a bit repetitive and some of the airside's peripheral structures barely look much better than default Asobo assets.
The night-lighting is generally decent but it's unfortunately non-existent in the most crucial area: the terminal interior. It's not immersive to arrive on stand to be greeted by a pitch-black terminal building!
One final annoyance is AI traffic's habit of getting stuck on taxiways after landing, thus never making it to the terminal.
All these issues could have easily been avoided, and since this airport is now at v1.8, that tells me not much has been achieved over successive updates.
Savannah is perhaps just about worth it in a good sale — mostly because there's no alternative — however there's just too much wrong with it to command full price.
