Hemet Ryan Airport (ICAO: KHMT) is located in southwest Hemet in Riverside County, California.
Hemet-Ryan is home to Cal Fire Attack Base and also the Riverside County Sheriff's Aviation Unit. The airport is named after the late T. Claude Ryan who formed the Ryan Flying Company.
Hemet-Ryan has a main asphalt runway (5-23) that is 4,315' x 100' and smaller asphalt runway (4-22) 2,014' x 25' mainly used for Sailplane operations.
The Cal Fire Air Attack base has been at Hemet-Ryan since 1957. Located at the base are two Grumman S2F3AT Turbo Trackers carrying 1,200 gallons of fire retardant, one Sikorsky S-70i Firehawk carrying 1,000 gallons of water and one OV-10 Bronco Air Attack (ATGS) platform.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Aviation unit has a hangar on the Southwest end of the field which is home to a fleet of AS-350 Helicopters and one H-145 Rescue Helicopter.
The scenery is a detailed reproduction of the whole airport including the solar field on the approach end to runway 23.
