Editorial
Es geht um Kommunikationsverarmung und darum, dass es nach wie vor nichts Neues für die Alten (Simulatoren) gibt. Zudem wird die Flugzeugflut für den MSFS (siehe FS MAGAZIN 5/2022) als Umstiegsgrund beleuchtet.

Aktuelles
Der Kommentar befasst sich diesmal mit der "Top Gun: Maverick Extension" für den MSFS unter dem Titel "Aus Top Gun wird Stop Gun". Vorgestellt werden zudem die virtuellen Piloten, die sich zu Lernferien im Haus Rehblick im German Outback eingefunden haben.

Kurzmeldungen
Wir berichten über "Sichtflugkarten für lau", zu deren Herausgabe die Deutsche Flugsicherung (DFS) per Gerichtsbeschluss ab 1. Januar 2023 verpflichtet wurde. Wie gratulieren der virtuellen LeipzigAir zum 20. Geburtstag und stellen die neue, dritte Runway von Hongkong vor, die es bereits  auch simuliert gibt. Dann geht es um des Flughafen von Brno des ukrainischen Designers Pavel Movzer, der nach langem Zögern nun doch für den MSFS Airports baut. Apropos Ukraine: Der Cockpitbetreiber SimInn in Böblingen hat ein Erlebniswochenende für ukrainische Flüchtlingskinder veranstaltet! Außerdem fliegen wir in die Berge zum Mountain Air Airport im US-Bundesstaat North Carolina, den uns PILOT'S für den MSFS gebaut hat. Kurz gehen wir auf die Veröffentlichungen der 737-600 und -800 von PMDG ein, berichten über "Aufheller" von Raimondo Taburet, stellen die virtuelle AirPower 22 auf dem Flugplatz Zeltweg in Österreich vor und weisen auf Neuigkeiten von Simmershome hin.

Szenerien
Zu Kur fliegen wir nach St. Peter-Ording in Schleswig-Holstein und landen auf dem "Größten" auf der "Kleineren", dem Flughafen von Menorca. Weiter geht es von den Balearen zu den Kanaren, wo wir den Airport von Lanzarote besuchen. "Very british" geht es mit einer Ausnahme bei Burning Blue Design zu, deren Airfields und Airports wir uns ausführlich widmen. Es folgt eine "italienische Fernreise" zu den Plätzen von Palermo, Pantelleria und Lampedusa gefolgt von einer Reise zum "ionisch gut aufgeladenen" Airport von Korfu. Abschließend geht es nach Fernost zum Flughafen von Phuket und zum Beijing Capital International Airport. Der aktuellen Lage ist zu schulden, dass nur letzterer außer dem MSFS auch für den FS X und den P3D 3, 4 und 5 verfügbar ist.

Flugzeuge
Die entwaffnete MiG-21 Bis "Fishbed" ist im Marktplatz des MSFS zu haben, die bewaffnete bei Orbx. Beide hat sich Harald Kainz angesehen.

MSFS
Thomas Stemmer hat sich die zuvor erwähnte "Top Gun: Maverick Expansion" von Microsoft vorgenommen, die kostenlos angeboten wird.

Nachflieger
Jan Haselhorst ist von East Midlands in England nach Skiathos in Griechenland geflogen und lässt uns an der Reise teilhaben.

Aerofly FS 4
Dr.  Mario Donick hat sich intensiv mit dem neuen Aerofly FS 4 befasst, dem am einfachsten zu bedienenden und performantesten 3D- und VR-Flugsimulator auf dem Markt mit dem neben dem X-Plane derzeit besten Hubschrauber-Flugmodell. Die neue Version zeigt vor allem mehr Landschaft und mehr Fotorealismus. Aufgrund der großen Datenmenge(n) von um die 120 GByte ist er ausschließlich bei Steam als Download verfügbar.

FlightGear
Mario ist es auch, der uns den aktuellen Sachstand des OpenSource-Flugsimulators FlightGear vorstellt.

Military
Da Mario ein großes Simulator-Spektrum abdeckt, stammt von ihm zusätzlich der Bericht zum "Meilenstein der Simulatorgeschichte", den Falcon BMS

X-Plane
Kommt mit zum großen Airport San Francisco International, den Justin "MisterX" Kißling für den X-Plane umgesetzt hat. FlightFactors aktuelle Version der Boeing 767-400ER ist Gegenstand der Betrachtungen von Hans-Joachim Marks. Ingo Voigt stellt die "Dynamischen Lastesel", die Cessna Grand Caravan Series von Thranda vor. Günter Brinkhoff beschließt den X-Plane-Teil dieser Ausgabe mit einem ausführlichen Test der Hubschrauber Bell 206 B3 und L6 von Cowan Simulations.

Ausblick auf das FS MAGAZIN 1/2023 (Dezember 2022/Januar 2023)

In der ersten Ausgabe des Jahres 2023 wird es Berichte über den Airport von San Antonio geben, über Pro-ATC SR für den MSFS und über die neue virtuelle Airline FlyHoliday. Mit dabei werden die Mitsubishi MU-2 und die Cessna 206 für den X-Plane sowie eine Ersteinschätzung des X-Plane 12 sein und vieles mehr. Da die finale Version des X-Plane 12 erst im Dezember erscheinen soll, wird dessen definitive Vorstellung im FS MAGAZIN 2/2023 folgen.
