Changhai Airport（ICAO：ZYCH IATA : CHI） is located in the east end of Dachangshan Island town, Changhai County, covering an area of 300000 square meters; the runway is 860 meters long and 30 meters wide, with a total area of 25800 square meters; the taxiway is 75 meters long and 15 meters wide; the apron is 69 meters long and 39 meters wide.
Changhai airport, formerly known as Changhai Dachangshan Island Airport, is a civil airport located in Yangjia village, Southeast of Dachangshan Island, Changhai County, Dalian City, Liaoning Province, surrounded by the sea on three sides. The airport is 9km away from Changhai County Government, 10km away from Changhai passenger terminal and 20km away from Xingang terminal.
Changhai airport opened in November 1988, formerly known as Dachangshan Island Airport. It is the first county-level civil airport in China. In 1996, the airport was closed. In August 2007, the rehabilitation and reconstruction project of Dachangshan Island civil airport was launched with a total investment of 36 million yuan. On January 25, 2008, the airport passed the acceptance and open use review of relevant departments, and was officially renamed as Changhai airport. On February 2, 2008, Changhai airport officially resumed operation after 12 years of suspension.
