Upernavik Airport BGUK ( N78.78693 W56.12776）. This airport located at the central west coast of Greenland,at the highest point on the Upernavik island. As usual, we still adopted full modeling and 4096 HD mapping.It is worth mentioning that due to the default terrain, we modeled the whole island and built the platform for it(including the surround islands) Not only that, but we also made real buildings covering the whole island.

Because of incorrect elevations in default scenery files, we had to change the ICAO code to BGUP. Please enter BGUP when selecting airport.

When using this plug-in, make sure that the terrain accuracy in the game is adjusted to the highest level(1m).

geographical environment

The town of Upenavik is close to the Arctic Circle and has no warm current, so the weather is much worse than that of the capital, Nuuk. Perennial snow and ice cover has made it one of the highest latitudes in the world. But in summer, the town of Upenavik is a cool city, with green grass and green waves, which makes the town full of vitality.

population

Upenavik is sparsely populated, with about 3,000 permanent residents. More than 1,100 people live in the town centre of Upenavik, while the rest live scattered in 10 other towns.

Economics

Economic development is slow, a medium-sized city, compared with Nuke is a quiet town. The economy is dominated by fisheries and is assisted by Denmark.

Got it at a 25%off discount, not bad for that price. A beautiful island in western Greenland, it is worth to recalling that developer made all the buildings on the island, but it would be better if they can made season textures.

On my opinion, this scenery seems to be more alive than that of Aasiaat because the village of Upernavik is included with several buildings. Indeed, as mentioned in the manual, the original P3D scenery comes with wrong height (at sealevel), but the airstrip is located on the mountain of Upernavik, thus it was corrected here. Great! Under these circumstances, landing on the exposed runway on top of the mountain is a bit difficult. At least three stars, the details in the surrounding could be better and more sophisticated for today's possibilities.
