Maripasoula is a small French town, located in the department of French Guiana.
Maripasoula City is the capital of the canton. Its inhabitants are called Mairpasouliens.
The municipality covers 18 360 km ² and 4538 inhabitants from the last population census from 2004.
Maripasoula is the largest commune in France from its surface. It is also characteristic of being adjacent to the west of Suriname and Brazil in the South.
The airfield
As a good majority of Guyanese airport, that of Maripasoulaa requires the use of bush plane, and a reckoning or Locator (MP: 385). The landing and takee-off takes place in both directions QFU: 071 and 251. The altitude field is 377ft (14hPa).
The airstrip nis 1200m long, but only 15m wide. You will need to steer clear, especially with a crosswind.
