FSV-VR acts like a moving map application. It tracks your or somebody else's flight automatically. 
While it is following your flight, you can look around with your Oculus Rift headset, 360 degrees. It has real world terrain which reflects the position the airplane is flying.
You cannot control the plane, this is done by the simulator.

If you own Microsoft Flight Simulator X (or Prepar3d) and Oculus rift then you can immerse yourself or your passengers with FSX VR.

All you need is your installed copy of Flight Simulator X, the free PC download and internet access. That’s it. Those things plus FSX VR.
