Version 2 of Hong Kong to Shaghai has been redisigned to the same format as North East China for the simulation of aircraft flying above medium altitudes in aircraft such as high performance light aircraft, Domestic or International Flights and Military Flights where the "real earth' outside the aircraft adds to the immersion of flying. The scenery is produced from 15m Next Gen satellite imagery by Earthstar Geographics. Three scenery folders are included in the package, LOD (Level Of Detail) 11, LOD 12 and a third folder containing water that has had a water mask applied over the imagery to give a real water visual experience. LOD 11 and 12 contain default water masking. Either LOD 11 or LOD 12 can be selected by the user from the simulator's scenery library. LOD 11 and LOD 12 are designed such that at lower altitudes during takeoff and approach you will see your default or add-on land class scenery around your aircraft. LOD 11 will show more of your land class scenery around the aircraft whereas LOD 12 will show less. As you climb more of the imagery scenery, LOD 11 or LOD 12 will show until you reach cruising altitude where you will see the "real" world around your aircraft. The choice between LOD 11 & LOD 12 is yours depending on the aircraft and number of monitors that you use. If you prefer the "Real" water turn the water layer on. Select whatever fits in best with any add-on airport or local higher detail scenery that you have installed. The water layer is resampled at LOD 13 so that it will display at all times. The water mask has been traced along the coast and inland until the waterway narrows or reaches a dam. From that point on, waterways will display as they are in the real world. The benefit of this type of scenery is that very large areas of the world can be produced at lower cost and with much smaller file sizes as compared to higher resolution photo scenery.
The difference between this version and version 1 is that version 2 does not include the 15m imagery option at low altitudes, however the file size is much smaller.
