The total VSTOL experience with stunning liveries and the most accurate and detailed model ever.

Background :

The first Harrier took to the air in October 1961.

The unique vectored thrust engine and nozzle arrangement remained basically unchanged throughout the life of the type right through to the final versions.

The first production types were designated GR1 and were delivered to RAF squadrons as attack fighter-bombers in mid-1967. The Royal Navy was also interested in the Harrier and ordered a special sea-going version called the Sea-Harrier FRS1 or more commonly, “SHAR”. Basically a GR1/3, the FRS1 differed in that it had a conventional pointed nose with concealed radar and as such is a cleaner design in that area.

The GR3 is the first of the type to see combat action and flew with the RAF partnering Royal Navy FRS1s during the Falklands conflict of 1982.

The Harrier went on to be adopted by the US Marines and was continually upgraded with very sophisticated avionics and weapons systems and designated AV8-A. Two-seat trainers were also built and later models were bought by the Spanish Navy.

Recently retired from active service in the UK, the Harrier must surely take its place in aviation history as one of the great aircraft advances of the modern age.

FEATURES :

Exterior

  • Fully detailed, accurate exteriors depicting the famous GR3 (RAF) and FRS1 (RN) from the Falklands War period.
  • Many detailed animations including retracting eyelids over the glass radar nose (GR3), jet nozzles, flaps and all flight control surfaces and landing gear.
  • Engine vents and central fan rotor are also animated correctly.
  • Animated windshield wiper is controlled from cockpit and interacts with real time weather conditions.
  • Selectable loadouts for weapons and external tankage.
  • Selectable refuelling probes (for visuals).
  • Animated pilot in fully detailed ejection seat.
  • Full ground set including chocks, flight flags and engine intake covers.
  • Fully modelled, switchable ground power unit trailer
  • Accurate weathered texture sets depicting various frontline and training units of the Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and US Marines, low and high vis schemes used in the Falklands War.

Interior

  • Fully detailed accurate Harrier cockpit includes working nozzle control.
  • Fully featured Virtual Cockpit with illuminated HUD and 3D gauges including engine set and tank selectors, navigation gauges, radios and weapons loadouts. Fuel dump function is also included.
  • Stunning night lighting effects in the cockpit with realistic instrument and switch back-lighting.
  • Fully functional Head Up Display : airspeed, barometric altitude, magnetic heading, flight path vector, radio-altitude, navigation information, target designation box, alert messages, G load factor, Mach number, bank angle.
  • Advanced radar showing AI traffic and other player aircrafts (if used in a multi-player session). It features three scanning modes and target information. The locked target can be displayed on the HUD.
  • Many detailed animations and a full set of functional switches and knobs. Just about everything in the Harrier cockpit is switchable and all controls are accurately reproduced for an immersive experience!

Flight Model

  • A unique flight model has been developed for this aircraft which allows highly realistic simulation of the vertical takeoff and landing VTOL characteristics of the Harrier. Even the famous “airshow bow” can be replicated!
  • Like the real Harrier, an "autoSTOL" lever has been added. It presets the nozzles to a predetermined angle for an automatic selection of different settings : VTOL, VSTOL STOL and conventional takeoff and landing. No longer do the pilots have to select a setting for the nozzles (although they can if they wish). This brings an incredible manoeuvrability, just like the real thing!
  • VTOL,STOL and conventional flights can be carried out with complete authenticity thanks to brand new programming technology replicating the exact auto nozzle/flap settings. No other simulation technique can replicate this as accurately!
  • The flight dynamics are true to type and require skill to master. This Harrier simulation is demanding yet very rewarding!
  • An authentic sound set is included.
  • Special effects include exhaust smoke which changes with nozzle position and ground effect effects to make the visuals highly realistic.
  • Cannon gun effect, firable from the cockpit, for the ADEN cannon pods.

The Debonair modeled is the 35-E33, which was actually a Bonanza as far as I understand (the A33-C33 were Debonairs, there was no D33 and the E33 switched to the Bonanza name.) The Debonair was essentially a Bonanza with a straight tail at a time when the V-tail 35 was popular. Regardless, for all intents and purposes this is a Bonanza. Kee-
nly, BRSim understood the Debonair's cargo potential. From the 35-33 supplement: "Careful workmanship and inspection employed in airframe construction assure that structural components will withstand flight loads in excess of FAA requirements for a Utility Category airplane at the certified maximum gross weight of 3050 pounds." Well represented by a dynamic cargo loading animation (move the payload slider to see boxes and suitcases come and go), this is nice choice for GA cargo operations in your preferred mission software. If I could give 1/2 star reviews I'd give this 2.5/5 until the glaring issues are resolved but because I do like the addon for the most part, I'm giving it 3. The developer has indicated they are taking feedback in this week and then will work on a fix, but I really think a lot of the issues with this aircraft, especially the size of the aircraft, should have been caught and dealt with before release. I noticed everything in my cons list in under 30 minutes of flying, most of it before taking off. While I'm still recommending this addon, it's unfortunate to not thoroughly beta test your release. Pro-
s: - It flies nicely, no issue with the aerodynamics though I wonder if any of them are lifted from the stock Bonanza as the sounds are. That said, it doesn't feel quite like the stock Bonanza, it has its own character. - Model and texture quality is very good overall. - Animations are mostly excellent. - Opening doors (2) and window (1). - The dynamic cargo loading is really cool. - Fuel transfer system works well. - Everything is truly clickable. - Working circuit breakers. - Nice selection of 8 liveries to start with, not sure if there's a paint kit though. - Swappable electronic attitude indicator. - Toggleable static elements are modeled. - No issues encountered with any navigation equipment. C-
ons: - It is oversized. The pilot looks tiny in it and it's way too big next to other aircraft. - The nose cone wobbles alarmingly. - The prop disc animation is awful to look at, it needs to be much more transparent. - The nose wheel (animation) doesn't turn as much as it should during taxi. - The parking break lever is reversed. - The sounds are not original from what I understand. - No sound attenuation for the engines when opening doors/windows. -
    - Engine sounds are too quiet. - The carb heat seems to have no effect. - Winglets on tip tanks doesn't make sense. - No option to remove tip tanks. - Glass reflections (from external view) are pretty much nonexistent. - Brakes are very sketchy. I don't mind this if it's accurate as it adds some character. - I had to use 'b' to recalibrate the altimeter because when doing it using the mouse-wheel it had a tendency to fully reset itself, this happened several times. The mouse-wheel can be used to increment it, but not decrement, that causes the reset for me.

PREALSOFT - HD CITIES ISTANBUL FSX P3D

Previous comment is %100 wrong. All the monuments mentioned in the comment is in the scenery. And 3d models of them. And also the bridges. Even the latest bridge which was built recently is there. As a born&raised "Istanbuler" I have been using this scenery for quite some time and I'm pretty content with it. Yes there are some minor things here and there but all in all It's a very nice product! After an update it would easily get a 5 star from me!

BDOAVIATION - CAEN CARPIQUET INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FSX P3D5

Nice, accurate rendition of that small international airport located in Normandy, France. Easy, reliable installation. -
Convenient place for regional aircrafts to depart to/arrive from airports in the UK I've dropped one star because of the following: 1. the ADEX file is missing the required hold short taxi point for the AI traffic be actually active. No AI traffic departure - it vanishes from parking at the time of departure - nor AI traffic arrival - it vanishes when entering the exit taxiway. You've gotta edit the faulty file through ADEX. 2. Very VAS demanding addon - 800 Mb of VAS on my system - for a somewhat small airport. FSX uesr, be warned: don't ever try to land at tha BDOA's airport with those VAS hungry aircrafts like the Carenado's or the Flight1's. Do go for those 100% VAS efficient aircrafts like the Majestic Dash8-Q400... and others. Chee-
    rs folks, Frank -

I have ORBX Global Base and instead of the runway there is a mountain (with runway lights)...so it's not REALLY compatible, but overall I am confident, because there's also space enough to land right before the runway...
