Memphis is the second most populous city in the state of Tennessee. It is located in the southwest of the state and is among the 50 largest cities in the country.
According to the 2010 national census, it has almost 650,000 inhabitants in the city and more than 1.3 million inhabitants in the metropolitan region. It is the 20th most populous city in the United States.
Memphis also stands out in its cultural scope, being considered one of the three most important cities in American music, along with New Orleans and Nashville. Memphis was also famous for being the home of Elvis Presley between 1948 and 1977. The Graceland mansion, a heritage of the Presley family today turned into a museum, remains one of the points of interest most due to the total state, about 600 thousand people per year.
