Description
Portland is a city in the northwestern United States, near the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers in the state of Oregon. Founded in 1845, it was incorporated on February 8, 1851.
It is considered one of the ten most ecological cities in the world, mainly because of the government's system of electric battery-powered cars that reduce a large percentage of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. It was ranked the "greenest" city in the United States, and the second "greenest" in the world.
