Description
Recife is a Brazilian municipality, capital of the state of Pernambuco, located in the Northeast Region of the country.
Recife has the largest number of foreign consulates outside the Rio-São Paulo axis, being the only city, with the exception of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, that has Consulates General of countries such as the United States, China, France and the United Kingdom , in addition to being one of the four cities that house the General Consulates of Germany in Brazil. The United States Consulate in Recife, founded in 1815, is the oldest in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the oldest in the world.
Recife has hundreds of residential and commercial skyscrapers, surpassed in this indicator in the country only by São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, which have municipal areas more than five times larger than the capital of Pernambuco.
Recife attracts tourists from all over the world.
