Palermo LICJ is one of the main airports in southern Italy, with more than 4.7 million pax in 2014. It is linked daily with the main Italian airports and many European cities. It is a very popular summer destination for European tourists. A twice-weekly flight to New York JFK is also operated.
A huge number of airlines fly to Palermo, and in the 2000s the airport became a focus destination for several low-cost airlines, with a few building a mini-hub there.
The landscape and weather conditions make this airport very special. LICJ is surrounded by sea on three sides, and by a mountain on the last side. This creates a frequent windshear effect which can make your landings quite challenging.

I bought this today so I must admit I have not done an extensive "burn in" of this product but I did spend a couple of hours using it. Installation, in my case FSX Steam was painless and successful. I am using Nvidia 2D surround on 3 monitors and Palermo airport and surrounding areas are great but what is most impressive is that there is hardly any hit on FPS. I was not using an FSX default aircraft either but Legacy Lancair from RealAir and with my settings on medium high.
Since with the purchase you also get an extensive scenery package of the surrounding area, this will make a considerable difference to VFR flight over Sicily.
I did some night flying and compared to other products, this product is good but with a personal reservation. Taxiway exits are almost impossible to discern. There are blue lights bordering taxiways, if you manage to get onto one from the runway but no center green lights. Maybe this simulates the actual taxiway conditions in Palermo or this is a result of my settings. In any case, this is a minor factor and I really have no problem with it. Overall, the product is well worth the cost.

Very nice scenery and very nice location. It's also nice to see that they included a large piece of the coast line when on approach to runway 25. Only note is that there are some flickering textures at the terminal but those are not disturbing enough to not give it 5 stars!

Just an addendum due to the review of mr Soffiato. I just flew at night after taxiing my plane from the Small GA Parking. Well, at least in my P3D v3 I didn't see any of the night lighting issues I read about. If it may be of some help I can send images to anyone who likes it.
Another - for me - important reason to give again a 5 stars is the absolute quick and valued assistance abaout a request concerning the sorrounding scenery. I've been answered immediatley and solved - at my full satisfafaction - my request.

I do not know how people test scenarios not reporting major bugs! The scenery is beautiful but at night girn hell broke loose. The apron with a light so white that it is difficult to distinguish the taxi lines, perhaps to this effect would add a taxi-lights. Now it is fashionable then the lights custom that unfortunately produce strange effects such as needles or bloom very pronounced. A further problem, probably due with lights custom, is that arriving at dusk you only see the PAPI lights while the rest remains in the dark, we want the transition to night in order to have all the airport illuminated. Check 4 star but should be reviewed night lighting.

Just installed... Awesome! All buildings are acurately made. And the scenery match well with the landscape. It remembers me my childhood in Sicilia. Probably the best scene in Italia for FS until today. Keep up the good job, can't wait for buying your next scenery.

Just purchased and installed. Simply stunning and a great improvemnent from their former products. I bought all of their products, but this last one is really a giant step. This is a long awaited airport, since I took off and landed there several times in an unforgettable working experience in Palermo.
