Just Flight, in partnership with Thranda Design, are proud to present the Avro Vulcan B Mk2, K.2 and MRR for X-Plane 11.

Following on from their award-winning PA-28 series, Hawk T1/A Advanced Trainer and C152, this highly detailed simulation of the Avro Vulcan B Mk2, K.2 and MRR is being developed by Just Flight's in-house team and Thranda Design following comprehensive, hands-on research with a real-life Vulcan B Mk2, XM655, based at Wellesbourne Airfield.

The Vulcan B Mk2 is an iconic, four-engine, delta-wing strategic bomber which saw service in the UK during the Cold War. XM655, on which this product is based, was the third-from-last Vulcan to be produced for the Royal Air Force. It was delivered in 1964 and saw service as part of the UK’s nuclear deterrent force throughout the 60s and 70s. It is now being preserved by a team of volunteers at Wellesbourne Airfield.

This product also includes the K.2 Air-to-Air Refueling and Maritime Radar Reconnaissance (MRR) variants that saw service with the Royal Air Force.

Following the Falklands War, six Avro Vulcan B Mk2s were converted for air-to-air refuelling as an interim solution prior to the delivery of VC10 and Tristar tanker aircraft that were due to replace the aging Victor tankers. This conversion consisted of the addition of a Hose Drum Unit (HDU) mounted in the tail cone, and three bomb-bay drum tanks. The K.2 variants served with 50 Squadron (RAF Waddington) from 1982 to 1984.

In 1973 nine Avro Vulcan B Mk2s were converted for Maritime Radar Reconnaissance (MRR). The MRR variants flew patrols around the coast of the UK, primarily operating at high level and using the radar to monitor shipping but also flying at low level for visual identification and inspection. They had a secondary role carrying out air sampling, flying through airbourne contamination following nuclear tests and using air sampling pods mounted under each wing to collect samples for analysis. The MRR variants served with 27 Squadron (RAF Scampton) from 1973 to 1982, at which point the Nimrod took over these duties.

The aircraft has been modelled to an exceptional level of detail and features a variety of 4096x4096 paint schemes with PBR materials and real-time environment reflections covering its time in RAF service, realistic payloads (including Blue Steel, 1000lb bombs and bomb bay tanks) and ground equipment. The aircraft features a fully 3D virtual cockpit with smoothly animated 3D instruments and fully functioning custom-coded systems and avionics.

RICHER SIMULATIONS - CARIBSKY: TBPB 2020 FSX P3D
Graham
Brilliant scenery, and excellant after sales service from Richer Simulations. I had problems installing in P3D v5.3, but after an exchange of two messages with RS, it was all sorted out. Extremely fast response on their part. Turns out I had a problem with my SODE installation which prevented the tarmac and aprons showing. Uninstalled and reinstalled SODE and hey presto! All good. Very pleased. This scenery is compatible with P3D v5.3.
FRANCE VFR - AIRPORT FRANCE PACK 2 MSFS

Acceptable quality. mainly use of photo textures, low res in places. good pricing and cost effective way to build up some airports in the sim. not at quality level of some of the better well known developers but to be fair, not marketed that way either and priced well. 3 star quality but extra star for price

Acceptable quality. mainly use of photo textures, low res in places. good pricing and cost effective way to build up some airports in the sim. not at quality level of some of the better well known developers but to be fair, not marketed that way either and priced well. 3 star quality but extra star for price
FRANCE VFR - LFRK - CAEN CARPIQUET MSFS

One of the best France VFR airports so far, texture quality appears better than some of the earlier airports from the packs. I think the earlier airports are 'ok' quality but priced accordingly, but I was surprised how much better Caen was. still not completely on par with the big name developers but not at that price point either, I think for the price represents very good value and great addon with the France VFR NW pack. 4 star quality but 5 overall due to price
TROPICALSIM - BUENOS AIRES EZEIZA SAEZ MSFS

This is a decent Tropicalsim airport. It's basic, but does the job.
PAULO RICARDO - SANTOS DUMONT AIRPORT (SDU) RIO DE JANEIRO CITY LANDMARKS (INCLUDE) MSFS

Really well modelled. Currently this is my favourite South American airport in MSFS. Great attention to detail and makes full use of the textures, PBR and night lighting MSFS has to offer. It also has some scenic and challenging approaches!
JUSTSIM - LARNACA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT MSFS
Peter
Overall disappointing. Textures are not great. Night lighting is poor, except for the car park! Hopefully it gets an update.

Phenomenal bang for your buck with this one. This little jet is tons of fun to fly around. I enjoyed the cockpit modeling a lot, as it really does give off that strong 1980's aesthetic vibe. Fuel consumption feels about where it should be for a jet like this. Systems functionality is decent, though as with the vast majority of MSFS modules, don't expect 100% fidelity. Everything that really counts is there though, and more than just the bare bones. The flight model is fairly forgiving, though that's pretty much true for basically all MSFS aircraft. You will want to ere towards the longer options of municipal airport runways, as you're not going to have the same stopping distance as something like a 172, but that makes sense given the type of aircraft it is and the amount of energy you'll have on touchdown. All in all, would recommend. I kind of wish the civilian variant had actually entered into full production and had been a bit more popular. (Though it did see service with the Italian military as a trainer.) This must have been a joy to fly.
ONET VALLEY - PHNOM PENH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FSX

Scenery is incorrect, lighting doesnt exist, taxiways appear to be dirt. Dont waste your money. Default is better.
FLYTAMPA - KAITAK FS2004 FSX P3D

If your considering the purchase of this don't wait. By far my favorite airport to fly into. The level of detail, the vehicles, the static aircraft with equipment there at the aircraft, the surrounding area around the airport--Awesom-
e. To top it off with that level of detail framerates not even noticeable. You wont find a more detailed airport anywhere.
