Cargo Pilot gives you the chance to fly your way along a career path in Flight Simulator X or 2004 that starts at small desolate strips with single engined aircraft and moves up to international operations with large jets. Enjoy the varied world of air cargo from flying chickens in and out of jungle strips to moving racing cars around the world in a 747 freighter. You will need to fly and operate in a safe and punctual fashion to ensure that you progress onwards and upwards.
Build your own global cargo airline. Cargo Pilot allows fictional airline names to be used in order to create an individual airline for each pilot.
Start small - get BIG! Start with a single engine prop aircraft flying from a small base in the middle of nowhere and progress up to massive multi-engine jet freighters at international airports.
Earn £££! The more cargo you fly safely and over longer distances then the more money you will earn for you and your airline.
Go LARGE! Once your airline has grown more financially secure you will be able to expand, fly from larger bases and purchase larger, more complex aircraft.
Choose to fly your own aircraft. If you have add-on aircraft installed the easy to use aircraft importer will allow you to fly these aircraft instead of the default fleet - Caravan 208b, DC-3, 737-400 and 747-400 Freighter (default Flight Simulator models).
Choose your livery! Pre-made custom aircraft liveries can be selected with the airline name included in the aircraft livery.
Fly the World! The routes you can fly vary from regional (national), short range (international), medium range and long range and depend on the aircraft's range capabilities.
The 'black box' - we call him Bertie - is watching you! A custom designed black box sits at the back of your aircraft and tracks your flight from the moment you start your assignment to the bitter end. Bertie will evaluate and report back on your performance. It monitors things like engine start time, departure time, waypoint times, altitudes, landing time and even engine shutdown time; and don't forget to give your cargo of chickens and pigs a smooth flight as any deviation from the acceptable flight envelope will be noted by Bertie and reported back to Operations. So, fly the plane, follow the route according to the rule book and success will be yours. But, remember, as your experience grows Bertie's expectations of your abilities will grow as well!
Can we fix it? Cargo Pilot comes with a maintenance module - your aircraft need to be flown safely and some of your earnings need to be re-invested in regular planned maintenance. All your flights are monitored and aircraft stress and abuse is logged. If your aircraft is overstressed, not maintained on time or maintenance funds are lacking, then inevitably some aircraft systems will fail and your safety record will get worse.
Intelligent operations - Flights are assigned by the OPS program according to the aircraft available and their range. Longer flights are pre-planned but shorter flights are direct routes and give you more freedom because they are outside the pre-planned regime.
Get a full briefing! The full route, fuel requirements and weather reports are included in a comprehensive briefing. The weather briefing includes all the necessary information required to successfully complete your flight. Briefings can be printed out.
Look out - there's a storm about! Realistic weather settings from the custom-built weather generator reflect the selected difficulty level and your experience. It might be clear blue skies or dark and deadly thunderstorms!
Plan your flight! The Flight Operations program (Flight Ops) provides all the required pilot administration, career simulation and pre/post flight simulations from generating the flight assignments, flight plans, briefings, debriefings, evaluating the pilot's performance, income and maintenance calculation, aircraft purchases - even down to rostering the aircraft for you to fly.
Fly from home - Selectable regions allow you to base your airline and fly from your home turf or from somewhere more exotic if you wish!
Call ATC - You can fly the routes under FS ATC guidance.
Want a challenge? A set of difficulty levels are available to allow you to fly to your capabilities.
