João Simões Lopes Neto International Airport or Pelotas International Airport (ICAO: SBPK) is located in the extreme south of Brazil, in the city of Pelotas. The current airport emerged as a small passenger station in 1930. It was built and named Pelotas Airport in 1935 by the Civil Aviation Department (DAC).
With a privileged location, the airport serves as the last stopover in Brazil for flights to bases in Antarctica and also receives Brazilian Air Force (FAB) aircraft for training in the region.
