This scenery is an outdated incompatible variant.
Again an attempt is made to hammer the old FSX scenery into the P3Dv4 without much effort.
GrondPoly not P3Dv4 compatible.
Objects missing shadow flag. Why? It's not really that labor intensive. But even this is of course asking too much.
If you don't miss any ground shadows in V4, you should rather stay with FSX and FS9.
This is a lovely scenery, and a nice surprise. I added this to my route network back in p3d v3, and have been flying it ever since. Beautiful, nicely done, and couldn't ask for more. Definite winner!
As Johnny Walker wrote this scenery causes fatal OOM errors with ex. FSX PMDG aircraft.
It's a no go with HD 2048 textures as the only option. You guys need a program for adding alternative lower texture resolutions as every other scenery developer these days having HD textures as an option. Because of repeating OOMs 50NM before landing I've never seen your actual work yet, so only 1 star from me.
Beautiful airport, and the LatinVFR quality certainly shines through. For some reason however, it is very hard on my Jetline system which handles most complex addons, including my usual PMDG B738 aircraft, with relative ease. KRDU does not run smoothly for me. I'll have 29 fps then make a turn and watch it drop to 2-5. Other than that, it's a greatly detailed piece of art. So I give it 5 stars for detail and 2 for performance.
I can't blame the developer entirely, there can always be a bug in my system that is causing the frame rate drop since other users don't seem to have major issues with performance.
Nice Airport, good detailed, onylt hing, as others, I'm using 1024 Tgexturs, in case of long flights and payware aircaft, it cause OOM at 50 miles from the airport, but It's a nice peace of Airport
would be 5 stars, but this is the only latinvfr scenery I have that causes oom errors, unless I go to 1024 in my fsx config. All my other latinvfr scenery I can run in 2048, but KRDU causes oom errors for some reason in 2048.
This has been a long awaited scenery in my book. I'm glad LATINVFR did this one. They get scenery addons right. I've been to this airport and it doesn't fall short from the real thing.
Pros:
First off, Frames are amazing! My Graphics card isn't working so all I have is my i3 and onboard graphics. In the PMDG 737, I got 12fps which is good considering I don't have a graphics card.
Details are great. It caught me by surprise when my aircraft view went inside of T2 and exposed the inside of the terminal with full detail and no frames dropped. There are some changes at RDU that aren't put in this scenery but I'm sure there will be an updated V 2.0 someday.
Easy and fast installation
Cons:
Even though I'm in belief that there will be a V 2.0, it is still outdated as of now on the 5R/23L side of the airport.
Conclusion:
I do recommend this as it is one of the higher quality sceneries on the market and the only good RDU. Its actually usable by those who also want to have scenery, but are lacking a good graphics card.
