Fly the Maddog X is one of the most sophisticated and complex add-on ever developed for the MD-82, built after the McDonnel Douglas MD-80 series.

Fly the Maddog X features advanced, study level aircraft systems that cannot be matched by any standard aircraft; it can be flown by following the operations manual of the real aircraft. We even encourage you to use such documentation to experience the level of detail that has been accomplished with this aircraft. Fly the Maddog X also features the undocumented intriguing details that real pilots experience when flying the real aircraft.

NOTE: If you also own Fly The Maddog X for Prepar3D v4.4-4.5 it should be updated to the latest version in order to work properly side-by-side the V5 version.

This airplane is a work of art. I have always been a huge fan of the MD-80 series. 8gb is not needed to run this. I have a 6gb 1660 super and it gets better FPS then PMDG.

You can tell so much love has been put into this aircraft since 2006. A work of art, a must have.

Hi, this' probably going to be a long review. Just the things I thougt before I bought it: 1: "8GB GPU"?- no, you don't need 8GB Vram. I have 6GB and it works really well. Performance is really good compared to other addons. 2:Liveries: There are pretty much all liveries available that you need. One thing you need to know is that MD83 and 88 liveries are all compatible with the 82 wich is really nice. The Systems are really well made. But be prepared, it's not like an Airbus "get in and fly"- you have to study the Doggo's systems. There are also nice things for example that you can print messages or that you can choose between 2 different fmc's. The visuals are also pretty good. You can open the Engine cowls, the WXR and even the gear doors. But (sadly) there's also one thing I really have to criticize: the Sounds. in the Cockpit theres no engine sound at all. It may be realistic, but I dont care I want to hear the JT8D screaming! And well, from the outside, the sound is FSX default level. But: there's a nice freeware soundpack wich fixes the mentioned issues. So there are a few bad things but still 5/5.

Coming from both PMDG and FSlabs products, the Leonardo MD-82 really is one of those one-of-a-kind products where nothing really comes close to it with the exception of FSlabs. Load manager with tons of options, easy to use and always works like it should, tons of freeware liveries from the forum, easy to download and install using the load manager. CPDLC/ACARS system with everything you would expect, loading of flight plans, ATIS, PDC request the list continues. Sounds that will make you go wow, same applies to the visuals, animations and PBR. While the MD-80 series of aircraft is one hell of a beast to learn to fly, Leonardo makes it a cakewalk with TONS of manuals for everything you could think off. Not only that but he also has a ENTIRE video series on his youtube channel. What can i say? You got the money and a passion for great made planes and a plane that will last and keep you coming back with all the opntions? i don't see why you should not get this thing. 5/5 absoulty recommend it.
