Discover the Sollières-Sardières airfield (LFKD), located at the foot of Vanoise National Park in the Haute-Maurienne Valley.

Nestled in the heart of Savoy at an altitude of 1,300 meters, the Sollières-Sardières airfield is designed for light aviation. A mountain flying qualification is required.

The Esseillon Barrier: Fly over the impressive Victor-Emmanuel military fort, perched above the Arc Gorge in the commune of Aussois. Built in the early 19th century, it housed a garrison of 1,500 men; named after the sovereign of the House of Savoy, its purpose was to defend against French invasions.

Will you be skilled enough to land your helicopter in the command building's courtyard?

You are just a stone's throw from Vanoise National Park: Head north toward the Col de l'Iseran, the Dent Parrachée, and the great glaciers. Or head south to discover Mont Thabor and the Clarée Valley.

It is also a gateway to Italy: Cross over in minutes to the Col du Mont-Cenis—with its turquoise lake cradled by mountain peaks—before reaching the Susa Valley (Val di Susa) shortly after.

Take flight to nearby airfields just a short distance away: Valloire, Tignes, Val d'Isère, Méribel, and Saint-Rémy-de-Maurienne!

The scenery faithfully recreates the airfield, as well as the Esseillon Fort, located a few minutes' flight away along the Arc River, heading southwest.

In spring, summer, and autumn, you will spot a hot-air balloon drifting over the Esseillon Fort. In winter, the snowplow driver leaves his colleague in the tug to clear the area around the runway.

Animations: hangar doors (opened using the navlights button), tractor, hot-air balloon, snowplow. Microlights: modeled or hand-painted.
