How many times you've watched the "Life Below Zero°" on TV, wandering how could have been to land on Kavik to meet Ms. Aikens, with bad weather and strong sidewind?
Kavik is a small and remote camp, which serves as a shelter and B&B for hunters, researchers, and adventurers.
Camp is South-East 44 miles of Deadhorse and 337miles north of Fairbanks.
The WHOLE wilderness in Alaska is constellated by thoudsands of small airstrips, mostly private, and there is almost no better place for learning and practicing bush flying!
NOW YOU CAN
Using dozens of pictures taken from the web and the TV series, I've been able to mentally map the whole area and meticulously reproduce each inch of the above.
Referencing has been the hardest part, and you won't notice at all that who designed this has NEVER been there before!
Each tent, tank, cabin, has been reproduced in detail.
Wanna know what's inside?

FUTURE PLANS
The more the Simulator and the SDK grow, the better I can improve this scenery (and my freewares too).
This means that in the short term I'll be trying to implement heightmaps for the terrain morphology.
Animated animals are in the list too
The rest, is up to Asobo's roadmap!
Live Free, even below Zero°!
Notes
This product features our simInstaller technology and is available after purchase via our APP only.
Love this scenery but can not undertstand why I can not see the family of bears deer or why its now a sea port after last sim update.. Great to fly to.. Wish LN might do a little bit more work on it like live bears al watt
A must have for any bush flyers! This airport is a great addition to the sim and at a very low price. It has 5500 feet of gravel ready for your aircraft.
if you love to fly over alaska
this beatiful airport is a must have!
it's very well done and recreates the atmosphere of those wonderful places very well ;)
I hope you'll make other airports in alaska - with this quality- ...soon!! :D
I flew into the MFS2020 Camp with its couple of shacks and although exciting wanted to do it again with LN design RK1 add on....Wow..I flew in early morning from Deadhorse seeing the sparkling camp lights in the distance. Landed to see a bob cat working and digger in the brightly lit portacabins.. Now I never saw"Life Below zero" Tv series but I was glued to Flying Wild Alaska especially the episode where John Ponts flew into the camp.. This was like re-living the scene again. The developer has done an outstanding job of bringing a small wilderness camp to a fantastic copy of real life. Well worth buying...I hope he does more in Alaska.
I really like this scenario a lot and I do like it because I saw it when it was nothing more than an untextured 3d model of a plastic barrel.
I know the process and the energy the developer spent on detailing even the smallest detail you can think of.
The result is a very detailed representation of the Kavik River Camp we all learned to enjoy through the well known TV Show. It is a must have for anyone who enjoys flying in these remote lands and, more in general, for anyone who wants a break from their MFD and autopilots and ILS approaches.
You can see that the author of this airport really put passion into this airport..
The accuracy of the models is amazing. I searched for a few pictures online and I compared them with what is in the game and its like completely 1:1
For example there is a weird wooden thing behind the living containers, and when you look on pictures the stand is right, the barrels are right, everything just fits perfectly.
I also like the little extra's he put in, like the hand drawn made VFR map and the livery for on the cessna caravan.
I do have some nitpickings tho;
He could've made like the living trailers' corrugated steel actually 3d.
now if you look closely you can see that its just a texture
also there are some trees and bushes located on the gravel which is kinda weird since they dont tend to grow on gravel
there are also some models with some nice details in them, like the aviation gas tanks. The way these nozzle hoses curve are really nice
Overall this airport is a must have for people who like to do bush trips, especially if you like to do them in Alaska. Therefore I will give this airport the full 5 stars
