Mersin is one of Türkiye’s most vital economic engines, home to the country’s largest maritime port, a thriving industrial sector, and rich agricultural plains. As a major hub for international trade and Mediterranean tourism, the city requires modern, high-capacity infrastructure. Çukurova International Airport (LTDB) was constructed as a mega-project to meet this demand, officially replacing the historic but constrained Adana Şakirpaşa Airport (LTAF) to serve as the new primary gateway for the entire Mersin and Adana region.
