The M2K-C is a multi-role French designed single engine, single crew 4th generation fighter. Designed in the 1970’s as a lightweight fighter it was based on the earlier delta wing designs. In excess of 600 aircraft have been built.
Now we bring you our artistic expression of the Mirage 2000C to fly to the extreme in Flight Simulator X - FSX. The depiction of any weapon or vehicle in the simulator does not indicate affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement by any weapon or vehicle manufacturer.
The M2K-C is highly optimised for performance within FSX along with Multiplayer, and download delivery.
It requires the VRS Tac Pack to be installed (not supplied) for use of the Weapons, Radar and Air to Air Refueling.
Wow! I just recently got the VRS TacPac with the Amazing SuperBug F18 combo and just had to pick this up too. It was a good choice if I may say so myself. This Mirage2000 is such a nicely crafted add on. Plenty of liveries that for once (for military planes at least) aren’t a bunch of the same livery with only slight differences. This package offers some standard military liveries as well but there are more creative types to choose from than most. That French flair is quite evident in some very artistic and colorful liveries that compliment the collection variety. The flight model is (so far as any civilian can possibly know, which is little) seemingly excellent. It’s a high performance plane that can haul ash. Beautiful afterburner effect. Con trails, leading edge and over wing vapor wash all done well. Unlike the Typhoon this M2000 has more distinctive flight behaviors that impress upon the virtual pilot that they are flying something different. The somewhat simulated fly by wire system while not truly simulated is at the very least fairly well replicated here. The TacPac integration works seamlessly and is infinitely easier to use than say the Typhoon by another dev. Perhaps it’s because this is a less complex fire control system, but ultimately makes use of armaments a lot easier than the current generation fighters. The INS is awful but very realistic. It’s real world design (at least for the period of this model Mirage) requires the dumbest user programming procedures I’ve heard of. No joke you must enter coordinates completely in revers of the way us humans read them. Somebody was high and sleep deprived or just didn’t care when they created this INS system. M2M offers a link to a converter to use online to bring back to the sim but not without much end user manual input for the most part. I can’t imagine anybody actually using this? But there’s sure to be die hards out there who will happily.
Despite this real world INS system being fully simulated I have ignored it completely without issue in favor of the fairly simple and general autopilot. Nevertheless weapons are easy to shoot or drop without requiring any complex fire control systems programming and that’s really fun.
This add on has it all. Realism, great looks, fun to fly, easy TacPac integration and just an all around outstanding fighter package! Love it!
My new favorite modern-ish fighter.
