The McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet is a twin-engine, supersonic, all-weather, carrier-capable, multirole combat jet, designed as both a fighter and attack aircraft (hence the F/A designation). Designed by McDonnell Douglas (now part of Boeing) and Northrop (now part of Northrop Grumman), the F/A-18 was derived from the latter's YF-17 in the 1970s for use by the United States Navy and Marine Corps. The Hornet is also used by the air forces of several other nations, and formerly, by the U.S. Navy's Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels.

The F/A-18 was designed to be a highly versatile aircraft due to its avionics, cockpit displays, and excellent aerodynamic characteristics, with the ability to carry a wide variety of weapons. The aircraft can perform fighter escort, fleet air defense, suppression of enemy air defenses, air interdiction, close air support, and aerial reconnaissance. Its versatility and reliability have proven it to be a valuable carrier asset, though it has been criticized for its lack of range and payload compared to its earlier contemporaries, such as the Grumman F-14 Tomcat in the fighter and strike fighter role, and the Grumman A-6 Intruder and LTV A-7 Corsair II in the attack role.

So im not gonna knock this too hard but. I got to fly this once after buying, It was really fun to buzz around in (Not study level at all) But thats ok because it doesnt claim to be. not much works in the cockpit nor does the flaps move, also the rudders do not move but do function with flight model. Now with all of this said for the price its still a great buy, The exterior model is awesome looks pretty dang good. Heres where the issue comes in, there seems to be conflict with SU5-6 becuase after flying i tried to pick a different AFB to fly out of (One I use all the time) so i know the location was not the issue, anyway with this aircraft as selected active craft when i go to set my depart location as soon as i click the Sim locks up and i get a CTD. :( this really stinks becuase you guys did a pretty awesome job so far. Figured id make you aware of the issue so maybe it can be addressed.

Sure, it technically is a model of the FA-18C, but I would expect better, even compared with freeware, that I regret ever paying money for it and if this is what MScenery counts as a V1.5 model, even for 11 euros, they obviously have a very different standard of what is worth paying for to me. This seems like an early alpha version at best. I spent quite some time just trying to get the HUD to come up, before eventually giving up and uninstalling the model.

I like this Plane...BUT...Only because I fixed it myself. If you don't mind getting into Config. files and playing with some of the numbers than I think the price is ok. Besides How many jet fighters do you see here? MSCENERY'S model looks nice and the panel does work. Not in the sense that there are a lot of clickable switches BUT the displays work showing speed, alt,HSI and ADI. The problems of this F-18 are that the Engines are tuned wrong. Idle for N1 is too HIGH (It should be 20) After I fixed and tweaked the thrust and aircraft weight settings it flies at lest like an F-100, but it is solid and lands like a jet fighter. It really wasn't that much work and MSCENERY really should take the time to fix it and repackage it. It still needs animated control surfaces like speed brake. But over all I am not sorry I paid what I did for this "Fixer-Upper". What buggs me is that there needs to be MORE MSFS 2020 choices in the $15 to $20 range that at least, work well "out of the box" for those of us who can't spend $50 plus! MSCENERY, keep at it...

Needs a lot of updating! Buttons do not work, physics are off and the plane looks like it has the GTA V chrome color on it.

Hello, I just bought this product and I do not understand how it is possible to sell something so poorly finished and not tested before the sale, even a FSX conversion would be better.

At the moment all the body animations are working for me. The plane really looks very beautiful from the outside, each seam is in its place and stands out, reflections ... I think that now there is no visually more beautiful model for msfs. The only thing I don't like is the speed, it is really slow and it needs updating.

This is really bad no buttons no afterburners and sounds like a rc jet

I figured, for the price point I'd give this a shot. This has a ways to go still. Cockpit has no working functions, cockpit views take you inside planes interior. Straight on view, that's it. Gear doesn't retract, flaps don't retract. I hear a noise but this is what i see in the exterior view. The exterior model does look very darn good, the best of the fighter jets to date aesthetically. When it first rolled out on the tarmac in the opening cutscene I did verbally wow to myself. This plane feels horribly slow as well for a fighter jet, I needed almost every bit of Edwards Airforce base runway to get this airborne on full power. Cruise speed = 400Ktas with a 950nm range. At this development stage the stock CRJ would crush this in a dogfight. With some updates... this could really be something Looking fwd to updating my review after some updates
