The AW-109 helicopter charter, produced by Italian-based AgustaWestland, was originally designed to fly rescue missions and act as an emergency ambulance in the mountainous regions of Switzerland. The first Agusta A109, the A109A made his maiden flight on 4 August 1971 and the first production deliveries took place in late 1976. Later developments brought the A109 improvements such as a greater transmission rating, redesigned tailboom and a new tail rotor driveshaft, improved rotor blade life and modern avionics. The Agusta A109 became the AW109 following the 2000 merger of Agusta and Westland Helicopters to form AgustaWestland.
Since its inception, the AW109 has been modified and improved upon and now utilizes twin engines that enhance safety while flying in a variety of conditions over a range of 512 nautical miles. The Power variant is a 3 ton class eight seat helicopter powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW206C engines with FADEC. The spacious cabin is designed to be fitted with a number of modular equipment packages for quick and easy conversion between roles. This helicopter’s maneuverability allows it to take advantage of rooftop landing pads in even the most crowded urban environments, offering business executives nearly door-to-door service. The helicopter has high climb rate and cruise altitude of 13,000 feet. This executive helicopter has a cruise speed of 170 knots, making the commute from Manhattan to Newark easy and painless. The private charter of an AW109 provides up to seven passengers with ultimate luxury.

It has great model and great (FDE), finally I found a helicopter with good flight dynamics. also, nice installation routine and no FPS impact .. it is nice and smooth .. great job from the developers ..
The flight model is excellent, not weird at all. The instruments are all accurate and do not display incorrect info. Its very easy to fly for a helicopter and as long as you have some experience with helos youll be fine.
Very nice physical modeling with high detail. I like this more than my AS155.
The auto pilot seems to work well and ive not had any problems with this.
Totally recommend! Glad I ignored the bad reviews since they appear to have no basis in reality as i have experienced it.
Running FSX SE Win10 3.2ghz 16GB RAM i7 UHD 630 integrated graphics with medium high graphics settings and complex HD add on scenery like US Cities X Manhattan, Los Angeles etc.
Waiste of money, it's flight dynamics are very weird, rather hard to handle, it behaves very strangely compared to other choppers. I woudn't recommend it.
Flies OK, though a bit touchy on the collective.
Biggest detractor is that the altimeter does not work correctly--the needle, which is supposed to indicate hundreds of feet, is off by a factor of 10 (reads thousands instead). Since it's coded into the model, a simple xml gauge edit can't fix it. This could be fixed with the simplest of patches, but in the 2.5 years since release it has still not been addressed.
Wow, this is a great aircraft! The model is beaufitul but this is not a surprise. It performs really well though and it is very nice to hand fly, although the autopilot works perfect too. I guess it was a difficult task to design a helicopter autopilot! It is easy to handle, liveries are very well done, avionics are very realistic... And you get a 31-page manual, with avionics and system description, checklist, technical details. Nemeth reminds me RealAir company in a helicopter market.
Just got back into FSX after a long break and just picked up this heli for several reasons, one being to show my support for more heli development. The model is beautiful, lots of details and a joy inside and out, I have a strong system, so I don't have any performance issues, but that was a concern based on what I read before buying. I am not a realism nut like some, but the start up sequence was nice and as for flight model, I found it slightly challenging, but enjoyable.
If you are into the DoDosim 206 type of deal, this isn't for you, but it's a beautiful model that handles well and I look forward to more from them.
Bring on the AS350!!
