Description
Barbacena Airport (SBBQ) is located in the rural area of Barbacena (MG), situated in the Campo das Vertentes region between the Zona da Mata and the southern region of the state of Minas Gerais.
Its function is to support the Preparatory School of Air Cadets, a high school institution of the Brazilian Air Force. The airport's security and defense are provided by the troops of GSD-BQ, while medical care for its troops is carried out by GSAU-BQ.
In addition to its military and civilian operations, Barbacena Airport has also been the venue for various aeronautical events and aviation-related activities, contributing to the development and promotion of aviation in the region.
