Description
The railjet, RJ in short, is a high-speed train of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) and is one of the fastest locomotive-hauled push-pull trains in the world. Allow yourself some luxury! In premium or business class of the railjet you travel like an Emperor in Austria.

The railjet units consist of individual coaches that are permanently coupled with airtight interconnections but with buffer and hook couplings on the outer ends of the set of coaches. The number of carriages can be extended on routes with an extraordinary high number of passengers. The trains each consist of a push-pull train of 185m length including one control car and six carriages. This train is pulled by a multi system Taurus-2-locomotive with up to 230 km/h. The train reaches a total length of 205 m including the locomotive.
Since June 2010 railjet are operated on the route Vienna – Zurich – Vienna. In SBB Route 1 you will also find the line section Pfäffikon Schwyz – Sargans which is also operated by railjet in the real world.
