PUBLISHER

Welcome to the fist free issue of ‘PC Flight’ magazine.

For those not familiar with the PC Pilots Ireland and our magazine, here’s a brief history.

The PC Pilots Ireland has been in existence sine 1993, when Ian Broni and Terry McGee decided to start a Flight Simulator Club, the ‘PC Pilots Club of Ireland’, to share our interest with other like-minded people who used Microsoft Flight Simulator. Membership steadily grew with the help of our printed magazine, published every quarter, which until the end of last year, was only available to members, who paid an annual fee. All articles and reviews in our magazine are provided by our members and Flight Sim product publishers has supported us by providing products for review in the magazine. Back issues of PC Flight will be freely available on our website soon.

We held an annual ‘Fly-In’, in a Hotel at Dublin Airport at which members got together for a day of Flight Simming. We also had on occasions a guest speaker from the flight sim community or the real world of aviation. We exhibited at many Flight Sim events in the UK and Germany and we held Ireland’s first Flight Simulation and Aviation show.

Due to lack of new blood, we decided to close the club at the end of last year but continue the magazine as a free download, published every quarter. PC Pilots Ireland is now a flightsim community group with our private PC Pilots Ireland Google Group which consists of past ‘PC Pilots Ireland’ members and those wishing share their interest in Flight Simulation with others.

We welcome contributions for the magazine of aviation and flight sim related articles.

You can contact us at pcpilots@pcpilotsireland.com PC Flight is available for download from simmarket.com and our own website pcpilotsireland.com. I hope you enjoy our magazine and I look forward to comments and suggestions.

ISLAND CREATIONS - LA GOMERA AERIAL IMAGERY MSFS
Christopher
I have been "flying" sims for over 20 years...FSX, the two X-Planes and now MSFS and I have never seen a better scenery addon to any platform. The cliffs, rock formations, trees, bushes and other vegetation, the roads and villages all look like actual photos. Even if you are not a fan of Canary Island flying, this is worth purchasing just to fly over for the fun of it. Island Creations really nailed this one "spot on". Best scenery I have ever seen. GET IT.
REDWING SIM - GENEVE-COINTRIN AIRPORT - LSGG MSFS
Pierrick
Great scenery in global, just lacking on the aeroclub side. The restaurant of thhe aeorclub is realy medium, the "bubbles" at the aeroclub are overlaped by generic hangars and there is even a building missing. Since last update, there is also 2 controls towers, wich is bad obviously.
SIMCREATIONS - PARIS LE BOURGET FSX P3D3-5
Yannick
I think we can all agree that Paris - Le Bourget is one of the most renowned airfields in the entire world, not least because of its famous airshow. Having been to the show myself, I was really pleased to see that Simcreations took it upon themselves to provide us simmers with a rendition of this iconic airfield. Generally speaking, I must say that flying into the airfield feels nice enough. I mean, the ground textures are okay, most, if not all, of the iconic buildings, have been replicated to some extent, and even the Ariane rockets sit where they should. Also, the scenery benefits from a current and up-to-date airport layout and, judging by screenshots, seems to be the developer's most comprehensive project yet. However-
, this is where the pleasantries end. Some of the taxiway textures just seem to use plain default textures. Also, most of the buildings do not benefit from high-resolution textures. The use of default elements, including that of default tank cars and other vehicles placed throughout the scenery, makes the scenery come across as a bit dull overall. I must say that given the exciting nature of this airfield, I expected the developer to have put a bit more effort into providing us with a faithful recreation of the airport. This is especially so considering the associated price tag. Overall, if you desire flying in and out of the most frequented business jet airfield in Europe, I would say go for it and give it a try. This is especially so, given that this is the most accurate and detailed, albeit only, recreation of the field that is currently available. However, if you buy it with the expectations of it being up to par with some of Paris's other airports, then you're bound to be disappointed.
LIONHEART CREATIONS - TRINIDAD TB-21 GT MSFS EDITION
Milan
The 4.1 update is a game changer in terms of fps (no more low fps as with pre-v4 version). It is a solid aircraft reflecting well its real life counterpart. A definite part of my virtual hangar. The devs are also actively working on the title (check the update history) unlike some other devs, which deserves recognition on its own.
SAMSCENE - CHONGQING MAGIC CITY 8D MSFS
Willem
Very beautiful scenery, well worth it. Especially because the airport is also made by CHONGQING. In the asobo scenery only 2 runways have been made, there are no taxiways, terminals, and parking places. With this version you have the full airport with all the trimmings. I went there 10 years ago, and we landed on RW 2L RW 3 didn't exist then. The terminal where we got off is exactly as it is in this scenery. That Monorail has also been made, you can see it driving through a building, I sat there and it just as it is. Am very satisfied. Zeer Mooie scenery, zeker de moeite waard. Speciaa-
Ben heel tevreden.
WIREBIRD SIMULATION - PILOT'S REST - CAVE RUNWAY - BUSH VACATION CAMP MSFS

Very unique and fun location to fly out of. Love taking our Airbus H135 out of here, but the cave runway is great for my GA as well. Great job!

Loved this scenery in XP11 and it's even better to see it rebuilt from the ground up and in so much detail in MSFS2020! Instant buy and no regrets
