The Super 27 Expansion Pack upgrades the Boeing 727 with modernized engines, avionics, and cockpit features. Based on FlightSim Studio's existing 727-200 series version, this DLC brings more power, new sounds and advanced aircraft systems to Microsoft Flight Simulator.
This expansion can only be used in combination with the 727-200 Freighter or Passenger variant (or both). It is not a standalone product.
At the heart of the upgrade are the JT8D-217C pod engines with iconic clamshell thrust reversers, paired with refined flight dynamics and a high idle mode for authentic handling. In the cockpit, the aircraft gains digital fuel gauges, auto spoilers, dual DME receivers, and a moving map display. A digital VSI with integrated TCAS enhances situational awareness and can also be used with the base 727 packages.
The biggest highlight is the Collins EFIS suite (optionally available via clipboard), complete with APS-85 autopilot and VNAV functionality. This retrofit replaces the traditional ADI and HSI with modern electronic displays, offering pilots the choice between classic instruments or advanced avionics for a versatile flying experience.
Both passenger and freighter variants benefit from the expansion, with a range of authentic Super 27 liveries included.
This package is designed for sim pilots who want to experience the Boeing 727 in its upgraded Super 27 configuration – a unique blend of retro charm and modern capability.

I really like the Super 27. Its cockpit and avionics create a fascinating blend of old and new. In addition, the increased range compared to the original 727 makes it possible to fly transoceanic routes in MSFS with the 727 (provided you make good use of the jet stream).
One downside is an issue with add-on downloads through the Aerosoft One client: if you are using the Microsoft Store version of MSFS, the download may fail with an error. In that case, you can try manually adding the Steam version’s installation path in the settings, switch Aerosoft One to the Steam version of MSFS, and then download the Super 27.
