The Fairchild Swearingen Metroliner or the Fairchild Aerospace Metro is a 19-seat, pressurised, twin turboprop airliner first produced by Swearingen Aircraft and later by Fairchild at a plant in San Antonio, Texas, United States.

The Metroliner was an evolution of the Swearingen Merlin turboprop-powered business aircraft. Ed Swearingen, a Texas fixed base operator (FBO), started the developments that led to the Metro through gradual modifications to the Beechcraft Twin Bonanza and Queen Air business aircraft, aircraft he dubbed Excalibur.

The SA227-AC Metro III was initially certified in 1980 at up to 14,000 pounds (6,350 kg) this increasing to 14,500 pounds (6,577 kg) as engines and structures were upgraded. An option to go as high as 16,000 pounds (7,257 kg) was offered. Externally, improvements incorporated into the Metro III were a 10 ft (3.05 m) increase in wing span, four-bladed props, redesigned "quick-access" engine cowlings and numerous drag-reducing airframe modifications, including landing gear doors that close after the gear is extended.

The RAZBAM SA227-BC Metroliner for FSX/Prepar3D includes the following amazing features and innovative functions:

I don't have much to say about it, it looks good, it flies good, it sounds... acceptable. Overall good for the price. The only major issue I have with this model is the lack of in-game checklists, I know about the manual but in-game checklists is, in my opinion, the best new feature of this simulator and is great for newcomers. It's something that payware aircrafts developpers should stop ignoring.

Meh for the price, probably will be great if fixed. The inside cockpit is quite ugly and below what you should expect for a next-gen plateform, low-poly in places and the textures are pretty bad. The canopy is so dirty it's really distracting and even disgusting, clean it up a bit. The outside model looks pretty good, I have nothing bad to say about it. The sounds are pretty bad, you don't even need to have heard the real plane to notice something is wrong with this addon, sounds are missing, the engine sounds is both wrong and of poor quality. I'm not to complain about the flight model too much since it's a known issue that is going to be fixed when possible and it's mostly Asobo's fault, but it's pretty bad for now. Somethi-
ng I can't accept now or later is the lack of in-game checklists, I know about the manual but in-game checklists is, in my opinion, the best new feature of this simulator and is great for newcomers. It's something that payware aircrafts developpers should stop ignoring.

It is a great plane but max. speed of 280 kts. could be more. I am not sure because i uninstalled Aerofly FS2 but the freeware MB339 made about 350 kts. 3/5 stars.

Bellissimo complimenti...l-
'unica pecca che sul simulatore questo aereo tende un ad essere instabile..ma credo sia un problema di MFSM. Aspetto anche il Typhoon. Continuate così

To me this scenery is a very mixed bag. There are plenty of nicely modelled areas, performance is great and daytime building textures look good. The developer has also put some effort into modelling the tunnels beneath the various aprons and taxiways. Another plus is the integration of SODE VDGS. There'-
s bad stuff however: - The aerial photo used for the airport is quite low resolution, which wouldn't be too bad if DD had put in more effort in using higher res texture bits in certain areas. All parts immediately next to the taxiways and aprons is very blurry, well visible from the cockpit when parked or taxiing by. You can spot countless flat and blurry objects in many grass parts or very blurry service roads. Not even some small bits of 3D grass were used to spice up things. - There is no optional colour blending with ORBX FTX Global. In some seasons the airport area will stick out more than in others, but Autumn looks particularly bad. - Many SODE jetways seem to be configured incorrectly, resulting in only 1 jetway connecting to aircraft when there's 2 doors available. - Night-time texturing is bad on the main terminal. It looks as if there is no glass windows present, all is fully transparent, and you look onto a bland, artificial looking interior with blurry shop textures. Also on the aerial photo ALL public roads are extremely bright yellow coloured, many times brighter than the airport itself. This is not realistic, road lights are never this intense. - While commendable effort was put in modelling the tunnels around the airport, they are not at all detailed, mostly 2D textures are used on their entrance and mesh artefacts are visible as soon as you move away a few metres. - The installer does not let you choose the install path. Also overall the scenery does not feel very high-tech in materials used. There are some traces of PBR, however it does not look and feel as realistic as some competitors. G-
round texturing and main terminal night lighting are the biggest flaws in my opinion. With some more effort, DD could make this to be a very good scenery.
