Naples International Airport (IATA: NAP, ICAO: LIRN) is the international airport serving Naples and the Southern Italian region of Campania. According to 2019 data, the airport is the fifth-busiest airport in Italy and the first one in Southern Italy. With in 2019 handling 11 million passengers!
The airport serves as a base for easyJet, Ryanair, Volotea and Wizzair. With many other airlines flying to and from Naples on a daily basis including airlines such as British Aiways, KLM, Air France, SAS, TUI Group and many others!
Located 3.2 NM (5.9 km; 3.7 mi) north-northeast of the city in the San Pietro a Patierno quarter of Naples, the airport is officially named Aeroporto di Napoli-Capodichino Ugo Niutta, after decorated WWI pilot Ugo Niutta.

The worst Naples airport ever made.
RDPresets abandoned this scenery after the initial release, despite al the bugs reported. The list of things that are completely wrong with this scenery is really long. Where do I start? For one, the light poles at stands 51-57 are inexplicably missing, which makes the apron absurdly dark at night. In fact, nighttime lighting is the major issue with this scenery—but we’ll get back to that in a moment.
Speaking of light poles, they’re duplicated at stands 61-66. A mistake that any developer would have fixed in a heartbeat. Do you think they did anything about it? Of course not.
But there’s more. For example, the concrete wall on the west side of the airport is missing, replaced by an unrealistic iron fence. And then there’s the sloppy texturing everywhere—especially on the terminal! Blurry, slapped-on textures that might have been acceptable in FS2004, but that look downright fake and embarrassing in FS2020, especially at night.
I can overlook the lack of interior modeling, but at least give us proper glass façades! Even the landside is completely made-up. The Aerosoft scenery released in 2017 was miles ahead of this.
Clearly, this was made using Google Maps only, without even looking at a real photo of Capodichino. It’s barely worth it even as freeware, considering the masterpiece created by the Napulevola team for FS2004 back in 2006!
Capodichino is Italy’s 4th busiest airport by passenger traffic. It definitely deserves better
is not a friendy addon. i have 16gb video card. nvidia rtx 3080ti. ram 128gb. and the fps is very slow...but only when im near airport. the graphics is nice only during the day night is very ugly....so in my opinion not good for msfs.
The Airport looks quite nice, some tyremarks on the runway would be cool. But by far the main issue is the VRAM usage. It's the first airport that uses more VRAM than my 4090 can deliver (24GB!). Even EGLL or KJFK run better and smoother than this in comparison small airport. Please RDPresets, optimize it! The approach looks so nice. If the performance gets improved, I'll happily update my rating.
I was shocked by this one. Honestly, I expected more. The airport looks great in the daylight, but at night leaves me to question if it's the same scenery. Additionally, I also encountered massive stuttering, as others have reported. I hope they can do a v2 and revamp this scenery.
Love this airport, Great details with very good performance/FPS with my cheap PC. Went to Naples in real life this summer, looks exactly the same, Highly recommend this airport. Got it from the RD website on day 1. 1 word: Bellissimo
Scène très sombre la nuit.
Très gourmande en FPS..
Il manque un éclairage de nuit du tarmac correspondant à la réalité.
Pour ce prix ce serait un minimum.
