TAXI2GATE - PARIS CHARLES DE GAULLE LFPG FSX P3DV3

TAXI2GATE - PARIS CHARLES DE GAULLE LFPG FSX P3DV3

Many of waited for an updated Charles de Gaulle. It was a long time coming. When I heard Taxi2Gate was taking it on, I was very excited. However, after I purchased it, I felt a little let-down. Compared to their other home runs in the past (Orlando, Istanbul, etc.), this one's more of a "triple". I feel like it looks a bit unrefined in many areas and lacks the detail that as been evolving with the other big developers. I followed the progress of this scenery through their Gacebook page noticing that they were struggling with reference photos and recon for many parts of this airport. I am wondering if they filled in the gaps with guessing or or assuming the voids. I am also experience pops or flickering with the volumetric grass as well as parts of the terminals. I had the same experience with Munich on its initial release. One thing I can commend is that the FPS is really good for an airport this size, especially with maxed AI and flying the PMDG 747 with no OOMS. I do recommend this purchase as T2G is with the upper echelon of developers and pretty good with updates.

REX - REX 5 - WORLDWIDE AIRPORTS HD FSX P3D

REX - REX 5 - WORLDWIDE AIRPORTS HD FSX P3D

REX revolutionized the flight sim world with sky and water enhancements, but this ghastly, borderline free-ware quality add on is beyond words. The price point is unjustified. All this product does is slap HD wallpaper on existing default buildings. Even the textures themselves are boring and uninteresting. This was a huge swing and miss by REX. By no means will this keep me from purchasing future products from them, but they should stick with weather, sky and water ADDONS. For those who don't want to spend $30 plus per airport add on from top developers, this may be for you.

FSDREAMTEAM - MEMPHIS INTERCONTINENTAL AIRPORT FSX P3D

FSDREAMTEAM - MEMPHIS INTERCONTINENTAL AIRPORT FSX P3D

This is beautifully done scenery. The guys at FSDT did not miss any detail down to the single brick! I am mostly a commercial, heavy jet simmer that prefers "mega" airports. This addition is obviously more geared towards the cargo enthusiast. I did a few approaches with the most memory gluttonous aircraft (PMDG, AEROSOFT A320, ETC) with 0 OOMS! However, when I added nasty weather with REX and Active Sky Next, my FPS took a huge hit. No biggie. There's lots to explore at this airport. I don't use P3D so I couldn't play with the avatar guy feature to see the elevator/tower feature. Also didn't feel like crashing my plane on an overshot of the runway to see that featurethat feature either (I find as an unnecessary addition). All in all, great purchase to add to your FSDT library. I would have given 5 stars, but since it was a long lull of no new airports since KIAH, I feel FSDT could have picked a better airport to spend the last year + designing.

AEROSOFT - BERLIN-TEGEL FSX P3D

AEROSOFT - BERLIN-TEGEL FSX P3D

I had very high hopes for a revamped TEGEL. This one fell very short. It seems lately, Aerosoft rushes their work to put out numerous titles in a short period of time with half decent quality. Why not put more effort into their work like more detailed oriented developers like FSDreamteam, FlyTampa, Flight Beam, Taxi2Gate, etc? Berlin Tegel X has no volumetric grass, the ground and tarmac textures are borderline freeware quality, and the frames are sub par for an airport of this size. I even experienced an out of memory error on my first flight with the [Aerosoft] A320. It would have been nice to see transparent glass. With Brandenberg on the "back burner" in real life, this was an opportunity to really make this destination shine. I do not recommend this title. Aerosoft used to be the front runner in airport addons back in the day, but can't seem to catch up to the others.

AEROSOFT - SACRAMENTO AIRPORT FSX P3D

AEROSOFT - SACRAMENTO AIRPORT FSX P3D

I'm adding a fifth star to my origal review. I had originally stated there was an OOM memory issue that needed an update. I realized I was running FTX Northern California in conjunction with KSMF. The manual states it will only work with FTX GLOBAL. The developer is aware of this and are working on fixes.

AEROSOFT - SACRAMENTO AIRPORT FSX P3D

AEROSOFT - SACRAMENTO AIRPORT FSX P3D

This is beautiful work from a relatively new developer. The modeling and texture design is superb. I was really happy to see someone step up and create detailed scenery for smaller, less known hubs for commercial aircraft. I hope more are on the way. My only problem (which is significant), is OOMS. The Sacramento area is not jammed with tons of autogen. The area is pretty flat actually. There's not a massive amount of traffic either. I tested this scenery with the PMDG 737, Quality Wings 757 and Captain Sim 767. All 3 had [out of memory] issues once I entered the taxi way near the terminals after landing. This scenery has an optimizer function which can add or take away features supposedly increasing FPS and alleviating lots of VAS usage. This did not help for me unfortunately. My machine isn't high end, but I NEVER had these issues with anything by FlyTampa, Flghtbeam, Taxi2Gate etc. Hopefully there will be a fix or update soon. I do recommend this scenery with the assumption there will be an update soon.
