FSDREAMTEAM - LOS ANGELES INTL FSX P3D FS2004

FSDREAMTEAM - LOS ANGELES INTL FSX P3D FS2004

This is for FS9 version of LAX. To say it first: my PC is old. A simple dual core 3.4 GHz PC with an NVidia Geforce 9800 graphic card and 3GB of RAMs and of course Windows XP for my FS9. Nothing compared to what is out there nowadays. But it was $109 Dollars - used. So what about LAX for FS9? First I bought it over the addon manager (but had it on my wishlist here on simmarket for about 6 months), installing and activating no problem. I am always a bit careful with virtuali after their teething problems years back. Then the first time loading LAX. It loads slow, seems to take ages, then suddenly all pops into place, the textures are sharp and crisp, the details are beautiful - top league - tons of eye candy, the buildings represent LAX as it is, amazing! And - even on my old PC it runs. Okay, I have to pay for my old system with a few fps, but taking the PMDG 747 with United 935 from EGLL to KLAX, approach no problem, the airport loads bit by bit in time, so no real hiccups, taxiing is so much fun, because there is so much to see. In other words, approach flown by hand is absolutely possible. What else can I say? Thank you FSdreamteam for getting this one out for my beloved FS9 too. The prize is okay for what you get. If you are into long haul, and want to come to California LAX is definitely something for you. Happy landings.

LIONHEART - AVELINA FS2004

LIONHEART - AVELINA FS2004

This is for the FS9 version (of course - as is this product page). A concept aircraft. What if the industry will develop better, lighter batteries, what could a plane look like. Bill takes us into the year 2019 - all of it has become reality and the plane has got a lot of features you would think of when you buy a brand new car. The dashboard looks almost like a car. You have to get used to it. Nothing reminds of the "good ol'" glass cockpit ;) (I recommend to watch Bill's introduction on youtube). And this bird flies! I still have to learn all of it's features, but I can already tell it is meant to be flown. The Avelina is full of eye-candy and gadgets. It's easy on the frames on my old dinosaur system, even with high res textures. I asked Bill for the low res texture package to squeeze some more frames out if it (not needed really) unfortunately Bill has lost the low res texture package - but you can download a resize program if you want (I used "Gonzo"'s, it's free and simple and works). The only thing I would complain about is the chime sound when you press the "on" button - it's deafening and also the abrupt engine sound when moving the throttle up (it's an electric plane, so idle = no engine = no sound). But this is not enough to take of a star of my rating.

DRZEWIECKI DESIGN - UUEE MOSCOW SHEREMETYEVO 2015 FS2004

DRZEWIECKI DESIGN - UUEE MOSCOW SHEREMETYEVO 2015 FS2004

I never purchased Drzeiwiecki Design before. But Moscow and those great reviews from earlier products made me go for it. It is not easy to review. First: lots of eye candy, good performance, they capture an airport atmosphere very well, the AI aircraft are superb - but if there wasn't the word: but.... Well, performance on my aging PC is very good, a bit better frames than MegaAirport Munich, but very strange hick-ups (and UUEE is the only one that produces such hick-ups) - freezing my PC for up to almost one minute - and yes at first until eventually after about 20 minutes the OOM happened. I will not review their forum - much has been talked about it anyway. I found the "LD_" files hint - removed them, the hick up remains with certain aircraft (e.g. iFly 737, but not with PSS 777 - yes Aeroflot flies both), and "hooray" the OOMs disappeared. I'm almost certain that on better than mine PCs it will do much better. The atmosphere is great, no doubt, but the textures all in all seem a bit blurry (here I do disagree with earlier reviewers), outdated and not the quality of FlyTampa or the mentioned above Munich airport. So what will I tell you, dear reader? It is Moscow! It's Sheremetyevo! So many flights to do from and to this location! Yes I recommend it. After all it is a nice airport - if the design team would openly address the issues with it! If they fix those issues that people experience with it (for some it is performance - for me it is the "hick-up" between good performance - for many its OOMs and CTDs) it is a 4 star airport. For me - I am looking forward for the New York releases for FS2004 and until then many flights at UUEE.

NEMETH DESIGNS - MIL MI-24P "HIND F" FS2004

NEMETH DESIGNS - MIL MI-24P "HIND F" FS2004

If you already own a "Nemeth" helicopter - then you might know what you are up to. I needed to study the manual, which unfortunately is not very easy to read. You have to flick back and forth through the pages. But it is all worth it. The Hind is wonderful to fly, and gives you a lot of pleasure and pride if you made it up in the sky.

FLYTAMPA - LEGACY - SEATTLE-TACOMA FS2004

FLYTAMPA - LEGACY - SEATTLE-TACOMA FS2004

The question is: What is the secret of Martin Brunken (and team), or why are other designers not able to create such an atmosphere and performance! Even with static aircraft, moving cars better fps than any german airport (series). Congrats to FlyTampa and welcome to the Pacific North West. If this is your destination, get it.
