FRANZ LUFTFAHRT - PARAMOTOR FSX P3D

FRANZ LUFTFAHRT - PARAMOTOR FSX P3D

I searched for a small vehicle to explore airports. Thought I lost the Franz Paramotor as I switched from FSX to P3D V4 long time ago. Then I found www.avsim.com/forums/topic/522812-paramotor-in-v4 and tried to install: very simple, in the installer, I selected the Prepar3d V4 main folder. Then did the update to 1.1 And again much fun the last two hours in Prepar3d V4.5 HF2 with the newborn Franz.

I own this helicopter now some years. The realism and therefore the difficulty to fly isn't at max level, but that's an advantage if you want to do a quick discover of a new bought scenery. In combination with the exorbitant sight of the nearly full glass cabin: just enter the heli and fly around your new airport. Show your friends the new landscape scenery around your hometown without long preparation. And: learning the basics of heli flying in a Dodosim is nearly impossible, learning it in this Bell is funny. Regarding the low price, it's a valuable tool.

I would give it one star more if I hadn't to correct the following errors in P3D 4.4: 1. LC_5218.bgl has to be deactivated by rename as it lead to a sim crash while approaching from northwest (flying counterclockwise round the Etna). 2. In LICC_ADEP_ADE.bgl RW26 is marked for takeoff = NO, so in P3D 4.4 neither takeoff nor landing are allowed by ATC. As I found charts with SID/STAR for RW26, I changed RW26 to takeoff = YES, set a "Runway Start" marker, now I can takeoff and land on RW26. The airport itself is nice modelled - but it seems, the developper didn't test takeoff and landing on RW26.

FSDREAMTEAM - XPOI GEOGRAPHICAL VFR/IFR TOOL FSX P3D

Works in FSX and P3D V4. In my opinion, this is a must for VFR pilots as it doesn't show only airports and navaids but geographical points of interest, for example: towers, rivers, lakes, mountain names or cities (selectable: small, medium, big). So, if you want to know over what you're flying, this tool is the right one. Only weakness: the density of a category isn't selectable, so for example in the alpes, you see a lot of arrows for every little peak of a mountain chain or in an area with much lakes, you see a lot of arrows for every small lake. To remedy one can deselect the category/sub-category in such areas. Shortly spoken: in my sims, it's always in use.

Nice scenery, nice airport, but the same problem as their LIRQ: RW04 closed for takeoff - why ? Search youtube, you will find departure videos for RW04 even for bigger iron. ADE 1.75 solved the problem: edited RW04 pattern TAKEOFF=YES. Btw: inserted ATIS 124.125 (s. NOTAM B3610/18 NOTAMR B1425/18 : Trial in 2018). I wish, flightsim reviewers would do some takeoffs/landings under several wind conditions and not only look at the well made buildings (except instead of flying, they prefer to stay at the airport admiring the nice scenery or takeoff/approach with tailwinds ;-)

Nice airport, nice environment, but no start/approach on RW05. A review in the english simmarket (thanks to jon moran) lead me to the solution: The Airport is defined with RW05 only landing and RW23 only start, but in P3D V4 the ATC let me only use RW23 for landing and start, even with wind 10kn from 40° , so I modified the BGL with ADE 1.75. And I added the missing ATIS (skyvector.com says 129.350).
