SAMSCENE - ROME CITY X FSX P3D
I had also bought the Prealsoft Rome yesterday and tried it out but wasn't completely satisfied. The differences between these two sceneries are like night and day. It depends on what you are looking for.. 1). The Prealsoft is perfect for flying over and having the city there. It runs fast. I am getting 120-140 fps with all the sliders in the middle and maybe a hundred or so autogen objects . The photoscenery ground is nice quality and displays the city streets layout which looks fine from above. It looks like there are no custom Roman buildings and the same red roof houses are used for just about everything. It looks great but only if you don't look too carefully. 2). The SamScene is perfect for low level helicopter tours. But be warned: It is a serious frame-rate killer and you will need a beefy computer to run it. I am only getting 7-15 fps using the same settings as above as there are still many hundreds of custom autogen buildings still being displayed. (My computer is Ryzen7 8-core 3.69GHz, 32GB Ram, Nvidia 1070GTX w/updated drivers which should be able to handle it.) There were black squares everywhere at first run which was fixed by turning off "Preview DX10". The SamScene autogen however is absolutely amazing. All the Roman antiquity highlights look to be there and modeled in very detailed and precise fashion. There are square buildings where there are supposed to be. Statues and pillars modeled individually. I felt like I was flying over the real city without the honking and yelling. Your settings will have to be adjusted just for the city though.
