BRSIMDESIGNS - ERCOUPE 415C MSFS

BRSIMDESIGNS - ERCOUPE 415C MSFS

This is an update to my previous review. The landing behavior was definitely the trim setting as I originally suspected. With a little down trim (instead of full up as specified in the POH) it flies and lands much more realistically. I would move it to 4 stars if the yoke moved for nosewheel steering. There is a rudder modification for the Ercoupe, but the steering remains attached to the yoke as far as I know (It steers on the ground like a car and the yoke is the steering wheel). The Ercoupe I fly has no rudder pedals. Anyway, the tiny bit of down trim from full up, makes it fly much more realistically on landing (comes down much better and realistically). Hope this is helpful.

I've flown an Ercoupe for real. This MSFS model of the 415C needs improvement in regards to flight characteristics. Landing behavior is not accurate IMHO. With power at idle and speeds around 65mph, it should fall out of the sky...but, on this model it glides like a glider. I think it is because of the full up trim which is a standard setting for takeoff and landings in this model. Also, the drag coefficient seems off to me. Takeoffs are ok, as well as flying around at cruise. Also, the volume in the cockpit is far to quiet regarding engine noise, even with volume at full for the cockpit interior. Outside engine noise level is actually a little too loud. It is a beautiful model, and the detail is really nice. If you are not a serious pilot, then this very well could be the aircraft for you. The price is unbelievably low for the amount of work that has gone into this model. it's fun to fly for a novice, but actual Ercoupe pilots may be disappointed. I wish the canopy would open as shown in several reviews on the web. Evidently, that feature was removed in the latest update.
