I held off purchasing this very detailed airport until AES became available. Thai Creation have done an excellent job and one can feel the pride for their airport and city. Animations abound within the airport and nearby highway. Having colour and movement makes SUCH a difference you wonder why many developers can't be bothered. The freeware version of VTBD is very good ... this one is superlative and definitely worth the money.
This is a very good rendition by BDO. I would rate this as the second best Middle Eastern airport just behind Fly Tampa's Dubai. Four and a half stars if AES is applied in future. Be aware BDO have developed the airport as it is now ... the substantial extensions are still under construction. Cranes are animated as is airport ground traffic so airport is alive. Ai traffic also works well on this large airport. Interior fitouts also modeled. Very impressed.
Unlike Lee I found the shimmering intolerable, as bad as at Newark. Although cured by adding mipmaps this had other consequences. A worthwhile purchase, yes, but without animation the airport is certainly not state of the art.
Another wonderful Chinese airport from SkySoft, this one quite unusual being the most Southerly airport in China and what's more on the island of Hainan. The screenshots are self-evident and the only negative is that there is no animation, at all. AES support has been requested of Aerosoft but I'm not holding my breath. Price is right too. Warmly recommended.
What you see is what you get with this airport, one of the highest in the world. Oh, I almost forgot, you have the choice of photo scenery or standard during installation. A 7 page manual lists airport specs and nav aids which is just as well since Navigraph fails to recognise ZULS's existence. The scenery unfortunately lacks animations and AES support at time of writing.Skysoft is to be applauded for developing excellent freeware and payware scenery of China which, in the past, has not been treated well by the big names in scenery design. I can only hope that this is sufficently successful to allow SkySoft to present us with some Chinese regionals as well as ZBAA.
IMHO this is the finest example of texturing by TAXI2GATE to date. Warmly recommended.
