LATINVFR - SANTIAGO SCEL V2 P3D4-5

LATINVFR - SANTIAGO SCEL V2 P3D4-5

A big improvement for LatinVFR from their previous sceneries. Back in the FSX days, I had given up on them due to lack of quality. This airport is much improved and a great add-on for an under-represented region of the sim. The AFCAD file is also very good quality as well for AI users. Unfortunately, there are a few reason why I can't give this scenery more stars. - After a couple minutes flying around I had a CTD. Checked P3D error log file and saw there are several textures missing from this scenery. Developers should at a very minimum check the content error log. It was put there by LM for a reason. - The modeling of the main terminal has a couple issues where the main roadway is missing and the vehicles are basically hovering over the wooden textures below. Should have been spotted in beta testing really. - The satelite foto (extended one) has some pretty strong color distortion towards the edges. This part should have been left out. The control panel allows you to de-select the extended area foto ground, but this then leaves you with a very sharp edge for the airport foto ground that does not blend into the surround terrain and landclass (ORBX-FTX South America LC). Would be great to have a blend option for users of FTX LC and Vector products since these add-ons are quite popular.

TAXI2GATE - HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT VHHH FSX P3D

TAXI2GATE - HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT VHHH FSX P3D

I must say that I can not recommend this scenery. The modeling and texturing is quite good, but overall it looks very sloppy and rushed. This airport does not work with FS9 AI models, they will not show if you have aircraft shadows enabled (what is the point of buying a big airport add-on if you can not spot AI aircraft ?) Not having aircraft shadows is a deal breaker. Without them aircraft look ridiculous, as if they are levitating above the ground. The included ADE file also requires a lot of improvement (again, what is the point in such a big airport without a properly made ADE file?). The parking flow is all wrong, and AI aircraft are parked far too deep in their gates, colliding with jetbridges and other support equipment. An airport this large and busy requires a decent ADE file to really come to life. There are parts of the scenery with rushed and a sloppy rendering, like road lines that spill over onto grass textures and unmatched or broken airport surface markings. T2G went through the trouble of including the large building in the nearby town (Tung Chung), but then left default building sloppily placed over roads. Sadly, this airport looks like it could have been an excellent add-on had it not been rushed out the door. A bit more time spent bringing it to current standards could have made VHHH this year's must have add-on airport.

TAXI2GATE - ST. KITTS - TKPK - ROBERT L. BRADSHAW INTERNATIONAL FSX P3D

TAXI2GATE - ST. KITTS - TKPK - ROBERT L. BRADSHAW INTERNATIONAL FSX P3D

I've been disappointed with T2G's latest two offerings, Doha and this airport. For some reason, they've regressed to making airports that do not work with aircraft shadows enabled. As an AI enthusiast I consider this a bare minimum. Their previous airports like LTBA and KMCO never had issues with showing aircraft shadows, and are must-buys. These for some reason, do, which sadly is gonna draw me away from their products in the future. Nothing worse than seeing aircraft with no shadows, looking like they are hovering above the ground. The airport itself is OK, but there are a few things that get to me. Such a small airport should normally see relatively good performance, but I'm seeing fairly low FPS figures for this type of add-on. I won't give numbers as it is highly subjective, but I'm getting similar FPS that I get in much bigger airports with loads of AI. I know they modeled a big chunk of the city, but it still should not be this resource hungry. The textures are very good in the immediate airport area, but I find the green used in the surrounding city grass areas a bit strange. It does not match my FTX Global textures very well, and I'm pretty sure it would kind of stick out a bit with default as well. It almost looks like artificial grass if you know what I mean. I find it hard to believe developers would release products today that do not at least offer an option to match FTX Global. One other issue that stood out is the 3D grass on the sides of the runway. Maybe because the grass texture is too light, they seem to stick out like a sore thumb. Looks fine from the ground, but looks not that great from overhead. For some reason, their previous Caribbean airport, TVSV, did not suffer from this issue, and it also uses lots of 3D grass. I was a bit surprised to not see the shoreline right before runway 25 enhanced even one bit. You fly right over this shore as you land, and it is plain default. Seems like a pretty important feature to leave out since it is a very thin strip of land. Anyway, with these issues I could only give this 3 stars. I hope T2G can get back to the level I saw in their previous add-ons.
