There are a few glitches here and there, like tire marks ending suddenly, or showing up in grass airstrips, and not all concrete surfaces are replaced where you can see the outlines of airplanes, but still an improvement over the default ones.
However, after having multiple issues with servers, serial numbers, contacting REX directly...I still have issues as the app asks for my community folder each time I attempt to open it. It then produces odd-looking runway textures where concrete meets the asphalt. Its like a sharp cut-off from Concrete being completely clean as can be....then asphalt with their tire markings on it.
I am taking off 3 stars because a great deal of airports, including freeware, Asobo handcrafted and even a few payware airport suffer from an issue not fixed by REX.
It is a shame because REX is usually better about this and their accuseason is amazing. When this is fixed, I will have this review removed.
2 stars because a few amount of airports are not ruined. But the several airports I tested had issues. Very immersion breaking.
Apparently, REX support says they "cannot" fix this issue?
We know Bristol very well and so we immediately noted the greatly improved Textures which Rex have given us for these Default Airports. Excellent Job !
Next we loaded up Oxford Kiddlington our favourite PayWare Crafted Airport whose every inch of Tarmac we know very well. Straight away we noted that some Ground markings appear to have been 'Painted Over'. With this minor degradation we also noted that our usual 47-50 fps on the Apron using the Just Flight Arrow was minus 5 fps together with Micro Stuttering when using the Taxiway.
We tried this Software with the same Aircraft + a number of default Airports and saw a definite improvement to Ground Textures.
Using this otherwise excellent Add On with crafted Airports whose Creators have already made additional improvement to Ground Textures we have decided to Disable Rex when Flying out from them. There may well be an advisory notice to do this in Product Documentation but we didn't find it.
This Review has been written in reference to our own experience with this Product which will give MFS 2020 users a visually improved Airport Environment.
This is a Positive Review and Rex Global Airport Textures deserves 5 Stars.
Any negative aspects of this Review may well be unique to our System and Set Up.
Wer jedoch glaubt, seinen Lieblings-Airport damit aufwerten zu können, muss differenzieren. Viele Drittanbieter verwenden ihre eigenen Texturen für Asphalt oder andere Details. Das bedeutet: Dieses Add-On greift hier nicht. Man wird also keinen Unterschied zu vorher feststellen.
Bei den Standard-Airports von ASOBO, die auch die Standard-Texturen nutzen, ersetzt Rex Game Studios das langweilige Einerlei gegen eine schöne neue Optik.
