Hua Hin Airport (Thai: ท่าอากาศยานหัวหิน) (IATA: HHQ, ICAO: VTPH) is an international airport serving Hua Hin District in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, Thailand.

Airport upgrade

In August 2018 the Department of Airports announced that it will spend 3.5 billion baht to upgrade Hua Hin Airport over the next five years. The number of travelers using the airport is expected to increase by tenfold, to three million a year, in that timeframe. The upgrade is part of the “Riviera Thailand” and Southern Economic Corridor projects. The work at the airport will take four to five years. It includes enlarging the existing passenger terminal, building a second one, expanding hangar space, and widening the runway from 35 to 45 meters.

Destination - Chiang Mai

In 2019, AirAsia flights to Hua Hin from Kuala Lumpur carried 44,613 passengers.

In 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Air Asia suspended their flights into and out of Hua Hin. In February 2022, when Thailand reopened for tourism, Air Asia restarted their Chiang Mai - Hua Hin flights. Initially, these flights were on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. These flights are now on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

There’s not many developers touching Thai sceneries. Hence I am very happy there is one, putting so many efforts into bringing Thailand back to screen. Airport is well modelled and they added some POIs like hotels, too. Happy with the quality. .

A fantastic Scenery worth every Penny. What I love so much about this airport is that not only did SiamFlight do a fantastic job at the main airport, but they did much more. I love when developers take some time to also include some of the surrounding scenery in order to make it a complete experience and SiamFlight did just that. From The Wat Huai Sai Tai Temple in the south, to many hotels and condos along the coastline, to the Vana Nava Water Jungle water park at the Holiday Inn in the north, they included it and are looking to expand in future revisions. So, I have to give it to them for that. This is a great addon at the price point. VTBS from them is out of this world, like a solid 5 star, but this airport is too, because of the attention to detail in the surrounding geography in addition to the airport. Price point is great, and no fps problems at all. Highly recommend it.
