    About the XS186
The Jet Provost XS186 was delivered to the RAF on 18th February 1964. She arrived at RAF Manby in Lincolnshire with another Mk4 JP, XS209. They were the first two ‘up-engined’ Mk4 versions of the Jet Provost to arrive at the College of Air Warfare.

The real XS186 is still in service as a "ground runner. A dedicated crew of volunteers is working hard to keep it's history alive. They really inspired me to make my rendition of the XS186. She now got a permit to roam the virtual skies. The XS186 restoration group have been a great source of material and information, when creating this iconic British jet trainer. Restoring and maintaining old jets is very expensive, and your contribution welcome. You can support the work of the XS186 restoration group here:

Given the string of five star reviews, I was hoping this would be the the kind of affordable classic that Ant's Airplanes produces, but far from it. To give it it's due, the exterior is beautiful, and if you're looking for a fine model of the 50's trainer look no further. But the cockpit is a rather low-poly, flat, blandly textured affair reminiscent of Flysimware models. Which would be fine if the systems were of Flysimware standard but these are only slightly modified default systems and come with all the problems associated with freeware models: ludicrously short battery life, beacon light bleeding through the fuselage into the cockpit to name but two. The flight model's not bad, except for bizarre behavior in the flare: float it, or tailstrike it, or smash it down on the runway, but you sure can't land this thing properly. Still, despite my misgivings I spent an enjoyable few hours throwing the Provost around UK skies and don't resent my 18 euros. If this dev can raise his game he'll be someone to watch.

Clearly a lot of LOVE has been put into the creation of this particular aircraft. Great job and really like taking her up. Not too powerful an engine and handles very well, as expected for a jet trainer. The recent update with PDR textures was much appreciated. It's wonderful aircraft like this one that keep me flying with P3D rather than the other flight sim alternatives.

Great plane from the British best planes program. Flies excellently and all instruments are very clear to monitor during flying. enjoyed it a lot and hope to see more planes like this in near future

A beautiful little plane which brings a lot of value for the money. I really enjoy this little jet and it is perfect for VFR flying when one wants more speed than a prop.

Slightly underpowered but stable and unspectacular, the JP is a british classic and this addon captures it perfectly. This addon is going to get plenty of hours under its wings. It is well worth the small price that has been asked for it. There is even a fair attempt to reproduce the somewhat quirky navigation system. The manual is informative and allows you operate this trainer effectively right off the bat.

Been waiting for JP for ages. Love the feel of this jet in sim. Had gone over to MS2020 but this brought me back to P3D V5 again. Sounds great.Good price as well. Many thanks

Awesome! Ok i am a fanboy of the Jet Provost as I am off an age where I grew up in Lincolnshire England to the sight and sound of these aircraft on a daily basis. This aircraft has been on my wishlist forever! VR performance in P3D V5 is superb, whilst the graphics are not as yet top notch they are above average and of a very high standard for asking price of 18 euro's.I have also read on the developers website that there are plans for graphical and PBR updates which I very much look forward to. Whilst I have no expertise on this aircraft or it's flight model I feel this is a classic British jet trainer well represented with promise for future upgrades and improvements. I am enjoying flying this aircraft over the skies of Lincolnshire. Well done.
