DDI (DYNAMIC DRAG INDEX)

The SSW F/RF-104G uses the Dynamic Drag Index concept; i.e. when you load/drop external loads not only is the GW changed but also the drag coefficient is affected and the model aerodynamics change accordingly. This is particularly important in the F-104 where external loads affect greatly the dynamic behaviour of the model.

SOUND SET

A custom sound set has been developed from scratch, using live recording to give you a full immersion into the Zipper environment. If you are a Zipper fan,you will enjoy staying outside and 'playing' with the throttle, listening to it's unique voice.

Okay, so I am a retired aviation maintenance technician that specialized in avionics. So I really appreciate a sim that has accurate (within reason) avionics. One of the main reasons I purchased this aircraft is because it supposedly has a working radar. Imagine my chagrin when I couldn't get the radar to even come on. After a bit of digging, I find out that there is apparently another app called Red Panda that has to be run to download the data for the ground mapping radar. Okay, I get that. I understand how such things work in sims. The USA area is limited to the southwestern states. I fly out of KEDW a lot so I'm okay with that. What I am NOT okay with is that this Red Panda app is nowhere to be found in my install. Why doesn't my install have it? Where do I get it? I read somewhere about how the Simmarket version doesn't have it and the Microsoft Marketplace version does. I purchased this from Simmarket obviously. So does that mean I can't get this Red Panda app? If this is true, then kindly tell me how I can get a refund. If Red Panda is available elsewhere, well... where? How do I get this app so I can get my radar working? Other than that. I like the model. It flies very nice if you treat it right, just like the real thing.

problema consumi risolto. Aereo stupendo e che adoro! unico vero problema, oltre al fatto che non tutti gli switch sono cliccabili è che le prestazioni di velocità non sono assolutamente realistiche. Si fa fatica a fargli superare mach1.... il 104??! questo è un po' deludente. per il resto lo ricomprerei altre 1000 volte!!

Nulla da eccepire sulla bellezza (sembra vero) il pilotaggio del modello di volo difficile come nella realtà, ma c'è un grosso problema di autonomia di carburante. Senza postbruciatore, sia a bassa quota che ad alta quota, c'è un consumo spropositato ed irrealistico. Non riesci a fare neanche un Rimini-Grosseto e ritorno. Massimo 3 Touch and go e finisce il carburante. Lo stesso con tip e Pylon, al massimo ti estende l'autonomia di qualche minuto. Ci vuole una revisione totale del consumo in base alla manetta. Mi dispiace molto perchè per il resto è perfetto. Ma impossibile riuscire a fare più di 10/15 minuti di volo senza usare il postbruciatore. Stesso problema anche con il TF104 che ho acquistato.

Superb, sensational. If you need to get somewhere fast, take the F104. Well modelled with great attention to detail, modelling, historical accuracy. Good on documentation and various improvements over the TF104. Not an easy aircraft, you will need to pay attention.

Best VR experience EVER. Stereo sound of the howling J79 is amazing and makes me again a little boy with open mouth. A dream came true flying the 104, even for me as RL pilot!Dankeschön

TOP, I got the TF a time ago, and I´m a enthusiast of the F 104, because I know this plane well from my time at Jabo G 31 Boelcke in the seventies.

I already had the Lockheed TF-104 G, which I love, so I had to buy the Lockheed FRF-104 G also. The FRF-104 G is almost simulair to the TF-104 G. It has the same quality in- and outside looks. Same sounds. The TF-104 G seems a little more agile to me. The afterburner effects are quite different, it is less visable compaired to the white-blue one from the FTF-104 G. The FRF-104 G does not have weapons. You can only choose to add pylon- and tip fueltanks. Big plus is the addition of the "tablet" to configure the plane and is sure makes starting much more easy compaired to the external app from the TF-104 G. Included to the package are many documents and manuals and to understand the plane, reading is a must.

I bought the two-seater version and I can confirm it is a great plane. It mystifies me, though, why - as an existing customer - I should pay again for essentially the same plane. I would have expected a free upgrade or a reduced upgrade price! I admit Im disappointed about this.
