    Simulation DATA® would like to thank you for purchasing “Obstacles & VFR landmarks – FRANCE”. We formed and trained our databases for several months to offer this unique product that incorporates the latest technology to display a large number of objects with very small impact on frame rate

    "Obstacles & VFR landmarks – FRANCE is an addon for Microsoft® Flight Simulator® and Lockheed Martin® Prepar3D® covering the entire French territory and designed to add more than 500 000 landmarks to the scenery, including virtually all of the obstacles to navigation identified by the SIA (Service for Aeronautical Information), that have been qualified and geo-referenced.

    The ambition of this product is to provide a true benchmark of obstacles and landmarks for VFR simulated navigation. We have set up a monitoring and reporting system that allows to regularly specify, modify existing data and add new objects or object classes.

    Features

    More than 4000 obstacles identified by S.I.A. including:

    + 1 000 radio and television antennas, telecommunications towers
    + 1 000 microwave towers and telecom transmitters
    + 200 cooling towers, smokestacks and flares
    + 500 water towers
    + 130 lighthouses
    + biggest bridges and viaducts
    + complete set of thermal and nuclear power plants

    Details of obstacles and landmarks included:

    + 350 000 power towers with lighting in the vicinity of airports, representing virtually all High Voltage and Extra High Voltage networks
    + 3 000 HV substations
    + 5 000 windmills
    + 58 000 churches, cathedrals, basilicas
    + 55 000 agricultural greenhouse
    + 23 000 castles
    + 11 000 water towers
    + 5 000 agricultural silos
    + 12 000 industrial tanks
    + 14 000 antennas
    + 3 500 lifts/cable car

    Locations are geo-referenced to ensure compatibility with any other geo-referenced product.
    Ojects design optimized to add thousands without significant loss of frame rate.

    Compatibility

    "Obstacles & VFR landmarks - FRANCE" is compatible with all types of addons, such as landclass or photo sceneries. It must be set in the scenery library over "photo" and "landclass" sceneries and below the local sceneries such as airports.

    As "Obstacles & VFR landmarks - FRANCE" is built upon geo-referenced data, we recommend the combined use of a high resolution mesh such as France VFR® NEXTMesh France.

    Limitations

    Given the quantity of items involved, we designed libraries reflectinc the variety of shapes but it is normal that an object locally doesn’t look like the real one.

    Configuration

    « Scenery complexity » is the only effective slider. Ensure it is set at least on « normal ».

    Advanced users

    Advanced users may want to control more precisely the product. We gave explicit names to the obj placement files. Furthermore, each class of objects is split into regional files allowing you to disable one or the other part of the product depending on your needs. Contact support for further information.

    Warning

    The databases from which we extracted our data for this product remain property of their owners. It is forbidden to rebuild these bases decompiling files. Generally speaking, any "reverse engineering" is prohibited. Certain amount of false items have been added in this product in order to protect our original datas. They are legally declared.

    Très bel add-on qui rend les paysages vraiment réalistes, excellent aussi pour le VFR. J'avais la version 1, la version 2 est encore plus complète et je ne regrette vraiment pas cet achat.
