French Air Force Airbase 126 Solenzara "Capitaine Preziosi" is an operationnal French Air Force Airbase located in Corsica.
Airbase 126 is located in the Ventiseri Town. Even if The Airbase 126 name mentions "Solenzara", the Solenzara village is located few kilometers south of the Airbase itself.
The Airbase 126 can handle up to 40 Fighters and 10 Tactical Transport Aircraft and its runway (2627 meters lenght) allow Strategic Aircraft and Tankers to land on the Airbase 126.
The Airbase 126 main mission is the squadron's support of the French Air Force and NATO's aircrafts that came in to training purposes in the Firing Range of Diane. Those Aircraft came here to train themselves in Air to Air an Air to Ground Targetting Practice. Being Geographically located in the center of the mediterraneean sea, the Airbase 126 is nicknammed "USS Corsica".
