Located in the fertile heart of the Sichuan Basin, Chengdu is the capital of China's Sichuan province, a region historically nicknamed the "Land of Abundance" due to its rich plains.
Culturally, Chengdu is defined by its famously laid-back lifestyle, which centers around bustling teahouses where locals relax, chat, and play mahjong. It is also a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, the fiery birthplace of Sichuan cuisine, and globally celebrated as the beloved hometown of the giant panda.
I highly recommend this city add-on for Chengdu. Both during the day and at night, it really brings the city to life and gives it character when flying around. There are loads of buildings, bridges, and assets throughout the city, including two giant pandas you can spot!
It’s a shame the default Microsoft scenery around the city isn’t the best, but this add-on makes you forget about that and enjoy the natural beauty of the sim again. I think it is priced reasonable for what you get.
Beyond the urban core, the scenery beautifully frames Chengdu’s place in the Sichuan Basin—lush plains stretch out beneath you, blending seamlessly with the game’s dynamic weather system and seasonal changes. It’s not just a flight simulator add-on; it’s a virtual tribute to Chengdu’s laid-back culture, UNESCO-recognized gastronomy, and unique charm. Whether you’re a casual flyer soaking in the views or a seasoned simmer practicing precision landings, this Chengdu scenery elevates MSFS to new heights, making every flight feel like a memorable journey rather than just a simulation.
