he Termez Airport began its operations on May 25, 1941, initially on the outskirts of the city of Termez, in an area known at that time as “Northern Gates,” and in 1946, a location was provided for it within the Termez District, in the steppe zone. Until 1970, the aircraft fleet consisted of An‑24 and Yak‑12 aircraft, which were used to transport passengers and to spray chemical fertilizers on fields. The following decade was characterized by the intensive integration of aviation into agriculture and medicine. The air ambulance service reached a new level of development, enabling the rescue of thousands of people from remote mountainous and steppe regions that could only be reached by air. Significant assistance was also provided to the people of Iran and Afghanistan.
