Very nice and eyecandy airport, also very hard to land on it. Especially on RWY15 which is closer to the hills than RWY33. 4/5 star because blurring textures too close to aircraft (I think for save framerate load) but this is not big airport to do this.
At first I have to say that this scenery was one of my most awaited. I love this airport and practised the approaches with an older freeware about 200 times in the past. So I was incredibly thrilled when this product was released.
Overall I would say it is a really nice scenery. The airport itself is stunning and well done. All of the buildings and the objects are carefully designed and created. Would love to see this one supported by AES what should add some more additional life to Paro. The frames are very good (up to 350 fps with my i5 2500K @ 4x4,2).
But there are two very important things that cost at least one star:
- Even if you use the mesh from the avsim-link above the result is not really satisfying. The prominent river close to the airport will "flow" up- and downhill and there is no riverbed. Also there are some mesh-issues with the placed autogen arround the area of the airport. A custom mesh is mandatory for payware today!
- The underliing fotoscenery is a bit to small regarding the covered area (...as always - LOL). If you do the circling approach into runway 15 you`ll leave the fotoscenery moments before starting the 180 degree turn and then re-enter it after completing the turn in the valley north-west of the airport. That`s a great pity. Apart from that it is cutted a little bit ugly at its oblong borders and there are some minor issues just north of the airport.
Okay, so I was deliberating to give 3 or 4 stars at the end. To sum up I would say I give 4 stars albeit barely because of the issues. But this scenery makes a lot of fun and helps a lot to comprehending these unique and and challenging approaches to one of the most beautiful places on earth.
