Tribhuvan International Airport (IATA: KTM : ICAO: VNKT) is an international airport situated in Kathmandu, Nepal. It is the sole international airport in Nepal and has one domestic terminal and one international.
This is one of the World's most dangerous airports known for its challenging approach. Located just right by 'The Roof of the World", the airport is surrounded by a mountainous terrain which makes it very tricky for the pilot to make an approach.

A little bit lower quality than VQPR but also nice airport to fly to. Many additional houses as surroundigs of the airport. Everything looks quite "a real like" These two airports (VNKT & VQPR)have their own climate - surrounded by high mountains with Mt Everest nearby. VNKT is a little less demanding to land. Also at VNKT I've seen this strange blurring technique.

I bought this scenery as soon as it came out! Thai Creations have been working on this scenery for some time and it's good to see that they have continued to develop for FS9 despite now venturing into scenery design for FSX with the recent release of their PARO BHUTAN scenery for FSX. Good news for both FS platform!. This scenery is excellent. I, for one, believe that the designer has got the amount of vehicular traffic in the scenery absolutely right. Frame rates are good and the depth of detail, especially in the ramps, runway and grass areas is very good indeed. Texturing is wonderful. Yes, this is a small scenery as Katmandu is not a seriously large airport, but for 14 EUROS it is a steal in my opinion! The scenery is very accurate and good enough to allow the IGRIS ONE BRAVO departure out of runway 02 to be flown very realistically with the mountainous location a serious challenge. Try it if you dare! My system is a fairly basic dual core CPU system with 2GB of RAM and a 512MB GeForce 8800GT video card, all on a WIN XP set up, so its not the newest and fastest system. But I have all of the Thai Creation work so far and it all runs very well. The ambiance of the airport is lovely with static ramp vehicles, well textured buildings and fencelines all placed to make the environment on the airport very realistic. I fly online most of the time so AI traffic and its movement are not issues for me, as they seem to be for the previous reviewer. However, as I expected, Thai Creations have issued a fix to deal with the concerns of the previous reviwer - which is the kind of service I have come to see this developer show to his purchasers! Well done for that. I can thoroughly recommend this scenery if you want to fly into the high places of Nepal. Katmandu is a four and a half hour flight from Hong Kong and is also close to parts of Vietnam where Thai Creation have produced other excellent sceneries (see elsewhere on Simmarket). Highly recommended and for once a very realistic and honest price set for this quality scenery product. It really is a steal! honest to say, the quality is not very well, less than the one they made before just like hanoi or macau. but anyway, it is still good. thank you for your supporting fs2004 and making asia airport. hope for your next one ---Mumbai!!!

Ok, the problems mentioned in my latest review of this scenery have been solved. Now it works fine and as I already said it is a nice scenery. The airport itself is pretty small but Thai Creation added some autogen buildings in the surroundings giving the entire scenery a good and realistic ambience. The scenery is therefore hightly recommended also because it covers a beautiful area which has a very difficult approach (for me at least). Even though the airport is small I have a small drop in FPS due to some of the vehicles and airport objects (I still get more than fps 30 in the airport so some would say it is nothing to talk about). I wonder why since the other sceneries a purchased from Thai Creation are extremely light on FPS even though they are bigger airports. Its going to be interesting to see what Thai Creation develops in the future. I will defenitely follow their work.
