Description

The MSFS version 2 of KMCI airport by TropicalSim brings the airport up to date with the recently opened new single terminal, replacing previously in use terminal B and terminal C. All major airlines have their parking gates assigned to match their real life parking. The terminal features full interior modelling with PBR textures, custom jetways, up to date ground layout and other changes from previous versions

Kansas City International Airport was built by the City of Kansas City, Missouri and opened in 1972. Its low congestion and small number of flight delays have long established it as one of the most appealing commercial airports in the world.

The MCI complex spans more than 10,000 acres, and its three runways can accommodate up to 139 aircraft operations per hour. Uncongested air and ground space, short taxi time, and a low weather-related closure/cancellation rate are why MCI consistently ranks among the lowest in delays of all U.S. airports. Three runways, two of them parallel with 6,575 feet of separation, Category III instrument Landing System and other features help keep operations smooth in even the worst of weather. New surfaces on the runways, taxiways and terminal aprons, along with ongoing infrastructure improvements, enhance the airport's efficiency and convenience to air carriers.

Don't buy the vendor doesn't response after emailing them about issues with their product. The ils doesn't work in V2 of this product.

Buyer Beware!! I can not get the ILS on this airport to work at all. I have tried all the runways.

Nice enough airport but upon installation and several reinstalls the gate and ramp ground markings are complete missing (no gate lead in lines or ramp taxi line). They show in the advertised pictures but mine are nowhere to be scene, tried everything I could thing of but no dice.

Airport This is the first airport I have purchased or even downloaded for MSFS. That being said I have been waiting and waiting for MCIs new terminal to be available for download and this does not disappoint. The textures and 3D models are so gorgeous. The modeled interior is very well done. I love the glass jetways (can’t wait to see them in real life), taxi ways and the runways and that the new terminal is recognized in the world view. I love taxing passed the old terminals and I hope they stay in the game for some nostalgia. Again, this is my first airport download but I’ve been playing for years so all I can compare to is the default airports. I live in Kansas City so this was a must and I am super happy with the purchase. Thank you!!!

This was a much-anticipated sight for many aviation fans. As an MCI enthusiast, I'd like to thank Tropical Sim for creating this scenery. Having said that, there are some details missing from this scenery. The first and most crucial consideration is the terminal's size. The terminal is larger in real life, and it is not scaled correctly; the old terminal scenery created by Tropical Sim WAS perfectly sized. Then there are the gates. The heavy gates are not modeled, and they do not appear as they do in real life, which is unfortunate. The interior is nice, however, the lighting at night is terrible. I really wish the lighting was better; it looks nothing like it does at night in real life; however, the old terminals that Tropical Sim created DID resemble the terminals at night. Finally, the airport textures—the terminal from the outside looks nothing like it does in real life; it just seems like dark wood on the outside, which a simple investigation and thorough dig into images will show you what it REALLY looks like. MOST IMPORTANTLY, I am asking for a lot; I am going into minor details because this is my home airport, I have a huge connection with the terminal, and I really wanted to scale this to the real thing. Overall, the scenery is good but not outstanding, and I appreciate that Tropical Sim took the effort to create this scenery.
