A Huge are of dense Native New Zealand Bush that was alive with the sound of helicopters throughout the 70s and 80s in New Zealands Venison recovery boom. 71 huts are scattered throughout the ranges. In reality the locals have since burnt and destroyed around 30 of these, so this a scnapshot of how they were before. There is a custom base to start at with some kiwifruit orchards nearby just north west of Opotiki.(NZBOP) I added a fictional Eco off grid Log Cabin high in the Raukumara Ranges 50km from the heli base as just a place to hang with friends. Be sure to check out the spectacular Maungapohatu Bluffs in the Ureweras, and the scenic Lake Waikaremoana.

The Base and Lodge have helipad hot and cold and dark starts. The huts have a helipad but I don't recommend starting there as Ive had to put the helipads under the huts to stop the helipad auto flatten messing up the landing area, as these huts all have a small area of 1m terrain mesh around them to allow a more accurate representaion of real world landings there. Have tweaked all the tree biomes in the area for a more realistic representation of the dense native forest of the Ureweras and Raukumaras.
