We’re excited to announce Pilot-Controlled Lighting for MSFS2024, the first simulation of pilot-controlled runway lighting for Flight Simulator.
Feel a new level of realism during night flying, as in real-world ops.
First implementation of PCL within the flight simulation community,4500 airports worldwide, Trial version available
How it works?
At untowered or tower-closed airports, pilots tune the assigned PCL frequency and press the push-to-talk key three, five, or seven times within five seconds.
The runway lighting will be activated and remain lit for 15 minutes.
During this period, the pilot can adjust the intensity using the push-to-talk process.
Feature set
Simulation of Pilot-controlled lighting (PCL) functionality on MSFS 2024.
Activation of airport runway lighting by the pilot via radio.
Simulates the PCL functionality at 4,500 airports and heliports* worldwide (see map).
Activation occurs when the pilot presses the radio microphone button 3, 5, or 7 times within a 5-second interval.
Simulation of the Lowest, Medium, and Highest lighting intensity.
The lighting remains lit for 15 minutes.
Airport runway lighting is deactivated by default as in real-world ops.
Airport lighting can be activated remotely via Simconnect variables (e.g., a remote ATC client).
Lights simulated: runway edge, center, threshold, and all types of approach lighting.
